Why are watch prices so high?
I've been lookin' round and find that watch prices are "artificially" high. Why is that? I mean I can buy a 18K blue face/bezel w/ gold band, for something like @ $25K at tourneau right now. But then if I try to sell it, I couldn't get $9800. Tourneau will then turn around and try to sell it for $15K, uhhhh, the one they just sold to me for $25K. But then I can buy a used one circa 1996, absolutely gorgeous, for just over $8K. and yes it's real.
Can't figure out why the huge disparity? |

The 'bluesy' you are describing is a $5k-$7k watch depending on condition, history, etc. - not a $25k watch. If your information is correct, Tourneau is the problem.

The only sport models that hold more than 60% of their value after purchase are SS models. Be happy you did not buy a DJ!

The used market is nuts....
just today I ran into two guys at HEB grocery store in Austin. Both had Rolex on and I had TW STEEL watch on. He said "nice watch", I said would like like to trade? I am wearing this tomorrow. |

That TW Steel looks like an updated version of the old Russian Zlatoust diver. Tell me more- automatic, but what mechanism? Swiss made?

model: TW100
ETA 2824 automatic assembled in somewhere else since it has no markings of "SWISS MADE" anywhere 10ATM gold plated see through case back retail around $1200, e-retail price around $600-$800 new I do not wear it often but I was going to buy used KOBOLD SEAL last night but I ws told the watch was sold same night at higher price. I wore it today to just make my self feel better since TW STEEL watch is BIGGER than KOBOLD. every one needs a very large comfy watch in their watch collection. |

Some ADs look for a little profit while others try to gouge the customer!
