You can visit Boston and try one at EWC. They often have them. You can also make a day of it and visit several watch boutiques within a few blocks of EWC -- AP, Breitling, Grand Seiko, Hublot, Lange, Rolex, TAG, VC, and maybe Patek (if they're open yet) are all there, plus ADs for several other brands (e.g., Omega).
I've tried the CB many times. It's a nice watch. I think it wears big due to all the negative space on the dial. And like all Journes, you'll never be able to fully appreciate the dial because the crystal doesn't have AR coating, so you'll always see reflections, which is super annoying and why Journes don't photograph well. I once got to see one being repaired at the old FPJ Miami facility, and without its crystal the dial was truly beautiful. It's still funny to me that the CB is now so expensive and desirable, since you could always get one preowned for $18K for years and years and years -- nobody would pay more than that. It'll be interesting to see if that continues. |
