2024 datejust

I have a small Rolex collection( (3 subs one OG from 1994, plus a 2023 yellow gold and LV) 2 2023 GMT sprite and Pepsi and a 2023 James Cameron. Offered a steel/white Datejust with blue diamond dial on Jubilee. Never really thought about it as waiting on rose gold skydweller and yellow gold Daytona on OF.

What are thoughts on this watch? Looks pretty nice and classy to me. I always figured a day date (gold or maybe platinum) would be my classic Rolex given all the sports professionals I have/want

I own the one without diamonds it’s my only watch I currently own besides a g shock. I love it super comfortable on jubilee and dial is beautiful.

The Datejust, especially if fluted, and on Jubilee, is a classic dress watch. If you like it, get it. If not, don’t! Is it a 36, or 41?

I dont like Jubilee bracelets or diamonds.Thats just my personal opinion. Get what you like.

Yes fluted on jubilee 41. I was never a huge fan of the jubilee bracelet until I got my Pepsi and now I actually prefer it to my oysters. I considered selling my sprite on oyster to get one on jubilee. I know I can just buy one but to buy one separate would be 2-3k and I’m sure I’d never put the oyster back on. Not seen the Diamond dial before in person.

My fear exactly! I have 7 Rolex and love them all. I am looking to move up to a day date. I fear once I get it I will never want to wear the others. I could never bring myself to get rid of them either.

That is a silly argument. Many of us have watches in completely different price categories, that we love equally. I have $400.00
Seikos, that I love as much as any Rolex. It’s not always about monetary value. Th3 watch he is describing is a true classic Dress style Rolex, with diamond dial, no less. It’s a beautiful piece.

I really don’t get this school of thought. A DJ41 especially in white rolesor fluted and jubilee is as well made or ‘high end’ as any SS sub or GMT, is significantly more elegant and much more comfortable to wear. It’s also more expensive at MRSP. It would be a fantastic addition to that collection and give the OP something different especially given the other pieces they are planning to get. I do agree a DD might be an option but in no way is a classic DJ a lesser piece!

yes i have a DJ41 i got a couple years ago, early on in my watch rejuvenation. Since then I've gotten some heavier hitters. Now i never wear this DJ and am looking to trade it in for DD40 since that interests me much more. For example I have a 116519LN silver panda, that one of my special watches. I never opt to wear the DJ41 over this. It's just sitting there.

DJ41 is beautiful but he's looking for a couple of gold watches now. a DJ just wouldn't scratch his itch.
