DateJust II casebacks

I am looking at a 116300 with the Lilac Arabic dial.
its from 2016.
it has a brushed looking caseback on the flat side that sits on your wrist.
I did some googling and saw that some have brushed and some are polished casebacks.

Did they come from the factory with some brushed and some polished? Were the brushed ones I saw for sale online so damaged they brushed them to clean it up?
