Day-Date 128238 - Champagne dial in real life?
There was a discussion how the champagne dial on the new Two-Tone Daytona differs quite a bit in real life compared to the official Rolex photo.
I am wondering if the same goes for the Day-Date 36, ref 128238 - photo below. Does anyone on the forum have this watch/dial combination? Can you perhaps share some pictures? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Gold watches are quite dynamic compared to photos and also have a "glow" (for lack of a better word) that isn't captured. I think it is difficult to draw conclusions without seeing them in person.

DJH is right. The dial changes drastically depending on the lighting conditions and it’s best to see it in person to really understand. I will say the 128238 champagne dial is FAR nicer than the 18238 champagne dials in person in my eyes

Champagne dials are one of the worst for viewing in bright light, I shy away from them completely.

I agree with it being too bright under the bright light, but when thinking of looks and beauty, it's one of the best actually.

Rolex gold looks a thousand times better in person than in photographs. Every time I go into an AD and see a precious metal watch it always blows me away even after seeing them for years now in photos. I am personally not a huge fan of the champagne dials. They are iconic, but I find them difficult to read. They are beautiful though and have a sunburst effect.

I disagree my 18078 from 1980 is darker matching the yellow gold better
