Chrono vs diver … what else do you have in your collection?

These watches really aren’t comparable IMO, (except maybe for the price)

Guess I'm the only one who would pick the Bluesy. I thought this was a joke.I love my Speedmaster, but always thought the Snoopy was kind of a gimmick. To each their own

i'm with you, never understood the appeal of having snoopy on a watch. i wouldn't buy one even if it were one of omega's more affordable, easier-to-get options

Agree. I've never understood why an adult would want a cartoon character on a watch. Submariner is the easy choice for me.

My eyes are always drawn to the fact that Snoopy is placed way over to the right of the sub dial. I understand why they’ve done it that way so he’s not obscured but that’s all I see.

I've never fully understood the Snoopy association with NASA. I get it that it's some sort of historic mascot, but at the end of the day I just see a cartoon dog and I've always thought it's a bit gimmicky having this on a watch.

If you're a huge NASA fan, then YMMV, and I'm sure the Snoopy is/will be more collectible than the Sub. However the Sub is a classic, and with the date, added WR and dive bezel, it has more functional appeal for me.

The Silver Snoopy Award was created in 1968 as part of the Manned Flight Awareness (now Space Flight Awareness) program. The idea was to allow the astronauts to recognize the exceptional contributions of individual workers (management are generally excluded) within the vast Apollo program workforce at NASA and its contractors, and the tradition has carried on to this day.

The idea for the Silver Snoopy award came from Al Chop, who was director of the public affairs office for the Manned Spacecraft Center (now called the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center). He wanted to create an award featuring Snoopy as an astronaut to be given by astronauts in recognition of outstanding contributions by employees and contractors.

Charles M. Schulz, who was an avid supporter of the U.S. space program, welcomed the idea of using Snoopy for the award. Schulz agreed to let NASA use "Snoopy the Astronaut" at no cost. Schulz himself drew the image the award pin was based on.

Since the Omega Speedmaster played an important role during Apollo 13, as one of the pieces of equipment that served as backup to the faulty instruments and thus helped save the crew members, on 5 October 1970 NASA gave Omega and the Speedmaster a Snoopy award to acknowledge the crucial role the watch played.

The snoopy depicted on the watch is what the actual snoopy award (which is a small silver pin) looks like. The 50th anniversary silver snoopy watch celebrates 50 years since Omega received the Silver Snoopy award.

For me, this rich history and having snoopy on the watch depicting and celebrating their achievement to the NASA space program is what makes it special, and one reason I find it so appealing let alone it's a beautiful watch. The Bluesy has none of this (other than it's beautiful as well).

Unless you work for NASA, and have actually received the award, this is just a pure marketing gimmick.

As they say… there’s a sucker born every minute.

Everyone on this forum could live without your condescending posts. If you have an opinion, feel free to give it. But your condescending remarks are uncalled for and not necessary.

In this either/or it is the Snoopy for collectability and just overall cool. I am a huge Submariner fan but as others have stated it can be obtained without much effort. The Snoopy, once it is discontinued, will be costly and more difficult to find.

Never owned a Snoopy, i did own a bluesy. Based on the picture of a Snoopy and the availability, i would go for the Snoopy. You can always add a bluesy later on.
