Very nice guit-fiddle, Erwin.
Yes, that man influenced a lot of musicians.

As Keith Richards said the two most important people to the creation of rock & roll were Les Paul and Leo Fender.
RIP, Lester Polfuss. dP

A true pioneer--not only with the electric guitar but also with multi-track recording, inspiring the Wall of Sound.
Definitely a life of significant achievement. |

I met him after a show last year at the Iridium Jazz Club in NY. So, he does the show - two shows actually - then soaks his hands in ice and water to relieve his arthritis symptoms. Then, with the clock approaching midnight, he settles in to a corner booth and signs hundreds of autographs and takes pictures with fans, while taking the time to chat with everybody! A true legend and genuine nice guy. RIP Les.

People seem to forget that he was a helluva musician in his own right.

There's a great video called 'Chasing Sound' that's worth check out. IIRC it's from 2007? |
