There are negative reviews for Rolliworks, every business will have them but I am safe to assume that 98-99% of their customers are happy with the service. A lot of times, negative reviews will have nothing to do with the job itself and usually has something to do with an issue with a shipper that didnt deliver an item on time, or an entitled customer didnt get their way and they have a tantrum on the internet.
Either way, I sent a 93150 bracelet to Rolliworks for a complete rebuild and when it came back, it looked and felt darn near brand new with zero stretch.

My view is that if you want a movement service, RSC is fine. They have the best access to movement parts and you get the 2 year warranty.
However if you want case or bracelet work, you’re rolling the dice with RSC. You may get an excellent refinish, but we’ve seen plenty of examples of overpolishing, softened edges, etc from RSC. You just don’t know what you’re going to get and that scares me. I’d choose a place like Rolliworks if I wanted my watch polished. |

I've sent I think 4 steel bracelets to Rolliworks. Most (all?) were 9315's.
I was very happy with all but one of the results. One came back to me with a shinier, very different-looking finish than when I sent it in. I never wanted the finish touched -- should've been left alone and only the pins repaired -- but there was some mistaken assumption that I wanted it look "more vintage" despite my clear, detailed written instructions. I wasn't thrilled, but they were apologetic and mistakes happen. It wasn't the end of the world. I'd recommend Rolliworks and use them again. The work was excellent. In fact, one of the bracelets I sent them had been restored by the previous owner of that bracelet in a way that was way too tight for my preferences. The links were very close together and it look unnatural to me, so I had Rolliworks loosen it up a bit (the opposite of their usual work), which was great. |

When I had my 18038 done by Rolliworks, the bracelet had very significant stretch and a loose friction fit clasp and some dents in the links, it did come back tighter with bracelet stretch resolved, the clasp tightened up, dents mostly fixed. But it was so tight that the bracelet did not "flow" along the fingers like a normal one does - the links would catch and not glide smoothly. This was a problem when I wanted to trade it in - they could tell work had been done. Same with the clasp. The clasp's joint was rendered so tight that one could fold it into a particular angle and it would stay there. You'd need a little force, not just gravity, to adjust the clasp hinge angle

You can check my post history for details, but I recently got back my 16750 Pepsi back from Rolliworks and I couldn’t be happier. And less than a year ago I got back from them a 1601 Datejust with terrible bracelet stretch that they rebuilt and refinished masterfully to my specifications. I only have good things to say about them.

I did nave my TT oval link bracelet refurbished by Rolliworks. Lost about an inch in length. I kept most of the gold links which could have been replaced at like $20 each but decided to only replace those that were really worn. Quite a few still have notches in them as you can see in the second pic.

Looks good. I really like the rootbeer. I can't seem to find one that I like. I'm probably too picky.

If you actually search the history of comments on this blog, Rolliworks has jad its share of problems. Ask me how I know.
I paid about $1600 bucks for 18238 bracelet job, but it came back looking like it did before I sent it. My bracelet looks like the before and after photos in this thread, EXECPT "after looks the same as before". This was about 3 years ago. Quite a few complaints in the forum. Girlfriend sent her bracelet in including the end links, but came back without them. Pulling teeth to get satisfaction. |

Sent my DJI Oyster bracelet to Rolliworks for polishing about two months ago and it came back a few weeks later looking good as new - very pleased!

Just had some work done by rolliworks on my 1970's non-quick datejust
I came to this forum a few months ago specifically looking for reviews of Michael Young and Rolliworks and thought that I would share my experience.
After reading the reviews I originally decided on sending the watch to Michael Young in China to save some money but the watch was returned to me after being in USPS limbo for 2 weeks due to issues with the customs declaration. To make a long story short I would have had to re-ship and declare a lower value to get it through. I wasn't willing to do that because of potential issues with any insurance claim if the watch gets lost. The watch has major sentimental value to me as it was my fathers watch, given to me as a graduation gift almost 40 years ago. I'm sure he would have done a great job but I have no personal experience. I then contacted Rolliworks and ,after a few emails, shipped the watch to them. They contacted me after inspecting the watch and gave me an estimate. The bracelet was badly stretched and the entire watch was improperly polished. I also wanted them swap the crystal, dial and bezel to return it to "retail" condition. They noted that the winding crown, hands and clasp front were badly worn and offered to replace them with original for a fair price so I agreed. I received the watch back from them yesterday and I can honestly say that they did an awesome job. The watch looks and feels as new as a 50 year watch can. If anyone wants to see before/after pics, msg me. |

Adding a quick take after sending in a 76 DJ for a full tour (service, jubilee bracelet stretch, the works).
Yes, the comms from Mike and crew can be frustrating. Yes, they are busy. And yes, sometimes there's an issue. If you're expecting (or require) a modern customer service experience with proactive updates and detailed explanations, Rolliworks might not be the right fit for you. Heck, I'm still not sure if it's right for me But in the end, Mike and team did excellent work, and when there was an issue, they took complete responsibility and made it right. The bracelet fits like-new, and so far as I can tell, they helped me avoid some potentially significant issues with the movement. Would I choose skill, craft, and integrity over better communication? Every day of the week. Do I wish you could get both? Of course. But like old cars, reliable mechanics are hard to find and most have their quirks ... it's the quality of the work that matters in the end. We love these watches (sometimes irrationally) and as long as you have patience, Mike and team know their shit like few else. |

Started off great and now I'm in Limbo-They dropped the ball

I had to send the watch back. It was stopping around the same time and not restarting unless i tapped the crystal. I assumed that the hands were touching at the same spot and needed to be adjusted (they provided the hands and installed). A few days after this review I contacted them and shipped the watch back. I haven't seen it since then. When I email for updates (now 3 months since i sent it) I get no reply and never get anyone on the phone. The last update I got was over a month ago. I received an email stating that the watch was ready to ship back to me. A week passed and no shipping confirmation, no watch, no update so i try to contact them. Finally, I get an email response stating that the bench testing results did not match the final quality control testing results and the watchmaker had taken apart my movement to troubleshoot it without my authorization. There was no reason for them to disassemble the movement. None of the work that I authorized would require the movement to be disassembled. The watch was serviced about 16 months prior to sending it and was working perfectly prior to sending it to them to restore the bracelet and case, replace the hands and crystal and swap the dial and bezel back to original (i provided the dial and bezel). So basically they have my watch (tremendous sentimental value) and have been paid. It's downright disrespectful to be ignoring a simple status request. My patience is gone. The only light at the end of the tunnel is that I'll be traveling to Miami in a few weeks for business and I'm looking forward to hearing an explanation IN PERSON. My fear is that the watch and movement have now been sitting in pieces with no end in sight. I'm just thinking how dumb it would have been to send my day date there for bracelet and case restoration. Proceed with caution, it sounds like they have more work than they can accomodate and a ghost handling customer service. |

Couple of years ago I purchased a 16013 on a leather strap and decided that I wanted to source an original jubilee for it. Rolliworks found one and I could not be happier. Bracelet arrived looking brand new.

I just sent my 1016 Explorer to Rolliworks. I tried to have it serviced by an RSC, but they sent it back saying the hands were not right for the model -- which was surprising given that I had previously had it serviced at Ben Bridge who did a replacement of the dial, hands, and crystal, and the hands look proper. So I had no choice but to send it to them, and have asked that they change the hands to the right ones.

Recent Rolliworks reviews?
Weird. Rolliworks used to be the gold standard right after the ABC Watchworks split. I wonder if ZWR is now the best
