Incoming (with unboxing) carbon content

Been looking at these for what seems like ages now. Could never quite decide what reference/dial combination to go for.

Nearly pulled the trigger on this one, but never did.

Fast forward to yesterday. Was browsing online and my go to retailer had one in stock.

I’d always hesitated because the same watch in stainless steel costs a fair bit less.

But then, this one has something unique

Anyway - a thread is worthless without pics

I shouldn’t have hesitated. Yes it’s a fair bit more than the SS version. But it is so comfortable on the wrist. Light (being carbon and titanium - aside from the clasp) but it has substance. Super legible, wears flatter than the specs suggest.

On the fly ratchet adjustment in the clasp. Does what glide lock does but more intuitively.

The carbon outer case is beautifully finished. The dial is small but the proportions to me are perfect. The domed box crystal adds a retro feel and works so well with the case shape.

Rotating bezel is super grippy and has a solid click action. Case is 42mm but lug to lug is only 45mm. Wears like a 38/39 mm.

You have to cut the strap to size, which could be daunting for some. I’ve done a few similar fittings so wasn’t an issue for me. If in doubt, cut long and redo.

And that dial. Only available in the Sub 300 carbon.

Going to pick up a white strap for it.

Could be the perfect summer/activity watch. And Doxa has proper dive watch heritage too.

It’s going to be a great part of what is now becoming a diverse little collection.

Cheers for reading. Have a great weekend everyone
