There is something cool about doing the opposite thing: smooth bezel on jubilee, or fluted bezel on oyster. Either way makes for a very nice contrast. Good choice! Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

All your Datejusts are beautiful in their own way! Thanks for posting.
Blue, jubilee and fluted for me, 36mm. A few personal considerations: Initially I tended towards the 41. The size would have been OK for my wrist, so i got on the list for a 41 mm with a slate dial, which exudes an elegant discretion, maybe in a more sophisticated way than the silver dial. I was still hesitant, though, and when i went to the AD for the umpteenth time to check wether it should be 41 or rather 36 after all, my wife tried several 36 on, and the more she tried, the more i became convinced that 36 was the way to go. Result : she got a 126231 and i got my 126234 a few weeks later. He AD switched from 41 to 36 without any hassles. Talking of slate dials, hers is, and it is absolutely gorgeos in combination with the RG TT. It's a shame that the plain slate is not available with stick indices (no Wimbledon for me) for the steel DJ in 36. If it had been, the choice between that one and the blue, that i eventually picked up, would not have been that easy. Have a good day!

Congratulations. I prefer the fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. Probably silver/white/black dial.

What DJ combo did you pick?
OP asked, What DJ combo did you pick?
I didn't exactly get to pick mine. I had requested a different configuration a few months earlier (36mm SS, Blue Dial, Jubilee Bracelet, Smooth Bezel). On a random check-in/visit/chat with my SA, I mentioned that my two years clean and sober "anniversary" was rapidly coming up. To help me celebrate, she immediately chose this one for me and offered it. I thank my Higher Power for giving me the wisdom to pick it up right away! I think she did me right , especially for the one watch daily wear person that I currently am (41mm SS, Mint Green Dial, Oyster Bracelet, Fluted Bezel). I do love the Jubilee Bracelet. I aspire, daily, to be able to acquire another watch with one in about 3-4 years... Have a great day, friends |

That mint green is my favorite DJ color - I saw one when I was picking up my Explorer. My ideal DJ combo would be 36mm, mint green, fluted, jubilee. |

Congrats! I went with the white dial, Oyster combo. I have a 1981 TT 36 DJ Jubilee with black dial and gold hands, bought new as a matching set with my wife's DJ. The new watch is my attempt at a "contrasting" DJ version compared to my original watch.
Highly accurate movement, very comfortable on the wrist. You'll be very happy with it. |
