Warranty card required?

I’ve never had to use the warranty, do you have to have the warranty card or do they just run the serial number?

For warranty service they want either the original warranty card or a copy of both front and back.

It's weird being the same age as old people.

I’ve never had to produce one when dropping off in person at RSC. They were able to pull up the information from the serial number.

Then shouldn't Rolex be able to do the same if you post it to them?

My AD sent my BLRO to Dallas for a warranty checkup, I was never asked for the card.

Never had to produce a card for either:

1) Warranty repair within 5 year period
2) Post warranty service / repair

Did have to supply a card when I went to purchase a bracelet for my SkyD at RSC and also when I wanted to order an additional parts (I.E. links, clasp)

If you take the watch to the dealer you purchased it from, you probably won't need the card.
Otherwise you would and this would apply to all brands.
However with Omega, IWC and Cartier I know you can register the watch against your name online so a card's probably not essential but can't do this online reg with Rolex.

The pusher on my white gold blue dial Daytona broke off and was lost so I took it to the local AD and they checked the warranty card before sending for repair under warranty

It would be silly and an obsolete procedure if they still require this.
Entering the serial number in their system will tell the RSC when it was sold.

They are trying to avoid honoring the warranty on a resale watch. Any little thing from unoriginal finish to claimed evidence of it being opening and they will void the warranty.
