I'm here, but everyone seems to always think I am a guy for some reason :) And I'm not afraid of knuckle draggers...there's a plethora of them on the Viper Forums.

Everyone needs to remember that life is about change even though we want things to stay/remain the same. With fall coming on there's school to get ready for and priorities need to adapt to taking care of family first. When their schedules permit I'm sure we will see their cheerful faces and comments once again!!!

I agree with most of the said comments. Life is full of surprises, and all of a sudden people do tend to get very busy very quickly. In fact personally I was away from the fourms for a few days just because we have a family member up from NY, and we are showing him the (lack of) sights in CT.
All I have to add is I hope the female members will return !! |

Of the people you mention JJ I would be very surprised if it had anything to do with sexism.
I occasionally see inappropriate posts but the members male and female seem pretty good at calling this. As for people being targeted, that may be the case, who knows what goes on behind the closed doors, but I would not see that as being a male or female trait. Some people do get up others noses thats a fact of life, I am sure I do to many. However the forum is big enough for everyone, if you got a problem report it, and no-one has to make a negative post, just move on. Maybe this forum is changing but up to now I have found it friendly, tolerant and welcoming and if you post inappropriate comment you are called for it. |

the vision of Martin and Jim in one another's noses, is well, I'm feeling ill....
but..... on the serious issue of sexual innuendo, flirting, sexism, some women just get tired of it all after awhile, and it's a matter of degree as in all things. self restraint is the best moderator. the reality, however, is that this is a large, international forum with lots of people on and off all the time, tough to moderate without the place becoming closed off, sterile, dry, boring in a word or three, while trying to protect and defend the sensibilities of women who are/have been/may be offended by sometimes openly explicit sexual remarks or advances. |

I'd like to weigh in and say that if there are Ladies on TRF not posting because of losers making them uncomfortable, I sincerely hope that the perps are dealt with by being banned. I don't really "know" any of you but I like seeing some female perspective in the WIS/RIS community.
I may have missed some things but based on what I see, I think the mods will handle inappropriate matters in the public forums as they should. I also believe that most Ladies here are reasonable and tend not to get offended too easily based on replies to posts I thought were out of line.....and I am no prude let me assure you. This thread brings to mind I saw something Jen posted recently that REALLY bugged me and I losely quote: "Ive recieved my share of freakaloo PM's" Guys, if you are sending this kind of BS to the ladies on PM, you are LOSERS, and I hope the PM's are posted publicly so that you can be ridiculed as you deserve. This should be a comfortable place for the Ladies, and as Gentlemen we have an obligation to make it so. Cheers, Patrick

Even though I don't "know" you Joe, I'll say welcome back buddy. Now, if you had chosen a different theme in your PM pics, maybe you would have gotten a better response. You shoulda asked me......I tried that already and got nothing.

Are you applying? Are you prepared to undergo a rite of passage that is so hideous that I'm still having nightmares over it? And, and... you have to learn the extremely complicated secret handshake by heart and be prepared to exchange it perfectly the very first time. The last contender for the job fouled it up and was never heard from again Or so the rumour goes.....

As far as the aholes with their snide sexist remarks all we ask is that the threads are reported and we will issue the points and dump them out of the forums if needs be.
It's happened plenty of times before and will happen again.
