Calibre 3285 -8s a day
Exactly. RSC told me that they have some flexibility (a few weeks to months) with the 5 year warranty for the 32xx. If you provide timegrapher data and can proof, e.g., too low amplitudes after 24 hours, RSC will service the movement for free.

My Submariner has already been in once for a fix, it came back +5 seconds a day (was -15) and is now around +3, hopefully it has just settled in to it's stride and will stay around +3 for many a year, fingers crossed |

Why can’t there ever be a civilized discussion on the subject of 32xx movements? It’s like listening to people argue about the moon landing……

Different movement, but my Explorer had been +1-2 SPD since I got it in early 2021. I didn't wear it for a while (like 6 months) and after I started wearing it regularly again about 6-8 weeks ago, it was running -6-8 SPD. I wound it to full power, tried setting it different ways at night, etc. timed it/kept track for about a month and it continually averaged -6-8 SPD.
I had a local AD put it on the timegrapher - they ran it in three positions and they were about -3, -6, and -8 and said if they'd run it in 5 it might be close but looked like it could be/was out of spec. They said if it bothered me, I should contact a different local AD that has a couple of full time Rolex certified watchmakers on staff and see if they could take a look and maybe tweak it to run closer to 0 or +1-2 SPD. I called that AD and they said since mine was still under warranty it was best to just send it to Rolex and let them check it out. So, that's what I did. That said, if it isn't bothering you and it's out of warranty, I'd probably just wait until it was time for a service or if it continued to get worse. |

This is going to get interesting as these warranties expire and more 32xx issues arrive

AD will check amplitude and make the recommendation. Some people are okay with 8 second variance, but I doubt Rolex S.A. is okay with it. It’s certainly not flattering for them.

I must admit minus eight seconds a day would bug me. I would send it in sooner rather than later, giving Rolex the opportunity to fix it on their dime if it was only just out of warranty. If they declined I’d still pay to get it serviced because minus eight seconds a day would still bug me.

I got the same watch the same month and had the same problem. Was actually up to losing 17 seconds a day.
I sent it in a couple months ago before the warranty ran out and now it gains 1-2 seconds a day. It’s much more pleasurable to wear now for me. |

Well said Padi. My watch would have to lose a couple minutes a day, and that might still take a week for me to notice! lol. Oh, and think of car manufacturers and horsepower ratings... claimed vs. Dyno... and don't get me started on gas mileage! Don't worry, enjoy.

I routinely get a good deal better than the official figures which are established over testing across a fixed sequence of operation. It's not like i don't have my bit of fun but i have to be careful as the police are everywhere and better than ever at stealthy tactics with unmarked cars of all descriptions and radar tech. Keep in mind that dyno figures are always rubbery. One could indulge in a number of pulls on the dyno and get an interestingly wide range of numbers. Personally i go by a one and done number as it reflects the real world experience, where as the numbers become more fuzzy once geat soak gets into everything |

My new watch looses 1 second a day. Incredible! If, over the years that precision drifts to 8 seconds I would think that it may need servicing as it's not running as it once did and may need oil or whatever is done during a service to prevent wear and this needs replacing of parts with the additional cost that may bring. Just as any mechanical system may show signs of wear over time.

Mine went to -3/4, then -8-10 and then 8 mins!
Regardless Rolex make accuracy claims in all their literature and any product asking significant money for it should deliver imo, otherwise drop the -2+2 claims. In your case I would watch it carefully and as soon as the steady -8 becomes erratic I would take it in. |

Which is why those telling us how great theirs are after only a year or two means nothing
