Hilarious how out of touch he has become. Thinking normal people can actually get one with a decent spend history

A beautiful watch.
Unfortunately it is just not very legible.

I enjoyed the video, thank you for posting it.

Beautiful reference, but I agree with Gus, it suffers from the legibility issue that most Daytonas have.

Agree on the legibility but oh man it is a gorgeous watch. I would love to own one of these. I'm a big race fan so the Le Mans connection is the cherry on top.

OK, maybe not the dog

Was hoping him and JM would do an early owners perspective video gloating over it lol flashbacks to 2016-2017 aka the tipping point.

Very good video in the relationship between racing and Rolex.

On that theme here is another great one with the legend Hurley Haywood and his watches he won and was gifted by Rolex.

I really enjoyed this video and how he busted out the calipers to measure three different Daytonas . A+ vid

x2

I enjoyed seeing him “WIS out” by measuring things, weighing things, pulling out old ads, etc.

I don’t know if it’s the most exciting watch of the past five years but I definitely would love to wear it!

And bonus points for having that magazine with the original Le Mans ad from ‘64. So cool

I prefer the platinum version as this looks like a stainless steel to me. I like it still but no chance to have one anyway

Even most of us won't be able to own it. We can still appreciate it. Thanks for posting this

I mean do people expect him to say anything different? The watch was allocated to him as a marketing ploy in the first place. Both him and Wei Koh have gotten one and the very next thing they did was to create a video about it.

I love what BC has been doing for Hodinkee lately. He clearly has passion for these watches and the fact that he is open about so much we should appreciate. I know some will describe him as out of touch but there are folks that would think we are too. If you can afford something and enjoy it you should feel no obligation to hide it. He is an asset to the community and I loved this so much I watched it twice. His idea of how he engraves his modern rolex with the city he got and initials was cool.

None of which watches were full gold ultra limited editions. I have to say, with all due respect to Paul Newman and all but the Daytona that feels the most like « racetrack » is the two tone they like to give out at the actual Daytona or the steel black dial they usually hand out to LeMans winners when it’s not a white dial TT there too.

Platinum is closer in "tone" to stainless steel than WG is
