A 10-20% premium sounds reasonable. Six figures is insane.

Bring this thread back after a couple of months.

Any word from Cartier on pricing for the second piece unique concept?

Heading to Cartier this weekend to discuss a NSO as well. Will share any timelines they give me.

Got the standard about ‘1 year’ quote. Unfortunately they didn’t entertain a design discussion – ‘it’s up to you’. I’ll think through a good bit more and share my idea down the road.

What watch are you looking at? Any ideas on design?

Nope. She did text to say she is waiting to hear back though.

Not really 100% I’m still super interested though lol

Yes, if you have sufficient order history. It seems easy to get approved though. You don't need to have bought much.

The actual sales person at Cartier is great and very communicative + up front BUT the team that I guess puts the quotes together is super slow.

Seems like a market that no one knows exists.

Like if I've bought a few Cartiers, are you saying I could get a Santos two tone, but the tones reversed? Like gold case, but stainless bezel and bracelet screws?

Yes, I would think so. They have discretion though over what you pick. It can't be anything too wild unless you're a client with serious spend.

My history is super light btw with them. Under $20k in spend.

Still waiting. I emailed just now asking if it would be faster to do a tank asymetrique or something along those lines…

Did you request a Santos or Santos-Dumont?

Would be very interesting to see how this evolves. I agree that the full precious metal bracelet likely complicates pricing - I'd rather go for a watch with a strap, myself.

Was interested in an CPCP-style Chinoise - YG square case, traditional characters instead of roman numerals. Unsure on dial, crown, and exact styling. Decided to not move forward because I wanted more of a discussion with Cartier, instead of filling out an order card.

This is super interesting! I have a little spend with them in the past. I’ve always wanted (and been waiting for) a black dial santos on the standard SS case. Is that something you think they can do?

I heard no pièce unique in steel. It has to be a PM for Cartier to consider it.

Makes sense. Don’t know why they don’t offer a black dial…just throw the black dial from the adlc model onto the normal SS case.

I’d take a blue guilloche dial Tank Basculante in WG when they inevitably rerelease it under CPCP in a few years.

There are OEM bezels available on ebay for not that much. You could buy the version with the ADLC bezel and swap it out for the normal polished stainless one for a bit extra.

Funny enough I own the old version of that with the 100. Still want to upgrade to the newer santos w SS case but black dial.

No clue. Probably. I think they can do pretty much anything. No SS though. You must do a precious metal with them.

FWIW, I’m still waiting on the new quote lol

Is Cartier still making solar Tanks? I thought they stopped after a year due to how hard it was to produce them.
