Received Text for 126711 CHNR, But Passed

I got a text from an AD today for this model. I wasn’t on the list for this one, or any GMT for that matter. I am not terribly interested in Everose myself. The GMT II is a nice piece but is on the small side for me. If it was one of the SS models I might have seriously considered but I just got the Omega 60th Bond which I love! I passed…

I guess things are coming loose especially on the PM models.

Great looking watch imo it’s a pity you passed on it.

It is a nice piece but wasn’t even on my radar of pieces I wanted. A lot to spend on something that isn’t on my wish list.

That's a beautiful watch to pass on, but the Omega is a nice one, too.

Getting offered watches you are not on the list for, sounds like the AD is struggling to sell.. obviously no one else is on the list for it.

I would never get a watch unless I wanted it.

I am not the sort of person who has the time, inclination, or risk appetite to take on watches I am bound to want to re-sell.

You passed on a $18k purchase for a product you had not previously inquired about or expressed interest in that you can no longer can't flip for profit.

My congratulations for a daring decision!

Ha ha! I am feeling extra brave today!

But it was offer was from an AD that didn’t give the time of day for over 2 years and then sends me something I didn’t ask for, even a variation of an ask. Not a hard decision.

My post was to be informative about market conditions.

That's the next one I'm waiting on from my AD. I'm sure he can get it for me, but can't do it until next year, already made large purchase this year (my YM 40) and have to let the wallet recover!

You did the right thing. Someone will come along that will want and appreciate it. It sucks when someone buys a Rolex just because it's a Rolex as opposed to letting someone purchase it who really loves it and will wear the heck out of it.

It's never been on my radar either. I would have passed too. A great piece for those who love it, though.

Agreed. Only buy what you love.

Letting someone else have a chance is a class act.

Good move, if it doesn't float your boat, then pass. Maybe the market is becoming rebalanced again starting with PM pieces. Don't need to buy anything your AD offers out of fear of offending them. We can dream of display cases with a wide variety of watches for immediate purchase. Good luck in your search. Cheers

I saw my first in the wild a couple weeks ago, it’s an attractive piece but tutones just aren’t my thing. No way I’d buy one because I was randomly offered one. Wait for what you want.

Thanks for the info, looks like things may be turning around, at least for PM and TT models.

I’m surprised to see all the love for the OMEGA Seamaster! As much as it’s a fun piece.

The 11 CHNR is such a good two tone! However, to state the obvious, good on you for not buying it, if it isn’t for you.

Doesn’t feel like things are easing up in my neck of the woods, but I’m not in the market for precious metal…
