Good spot Scholar, nice to see they're beginning to come through at least in some places. I'm still confused as to the general aversion to the gilt, personally I love it. I think it's easier to appreciate the vintage inspired palette when you already own modern Rolex GMT's and submariners etc though.

Yeah I actually like how it doesn’t quite resemble any specific GMT or Sub reference; makes the mismatched details (critically the very 1970s snowflake on a 50s style design) work. Sort of like Omega’s Planet Ocean line in that respect.

In contrast the 54 feels like an almost pitch perfect reproduction of a first gen 1954 Sub, then slaps on a Snowflake hand for complete incoherence.

Have to agree with the hands. They feel an anachronism on the 54 and the GMT.

I like the watch but to sell one to me I’d still prefer Pepsi and Jubilee and less gilt. I know they faded to this look but it’s still a cool watch. I’m sure other bracelets and colors will follow.
