Moser Streamliner green to be discontinued

Here’s the tourbillon, I was offered one but passed. Looks good but I didn’t love it.

$120k steel case with sapphire bezel

Sounds really nice. Tough to put 120k in a streamliner…for me anyways. Not for those with more disposable.

I’d love for a purple dial but I think that’s unlikely for now.

Do you think this is going to be the only model offered? I'm hoping there may be a spectrum of new models - maybe 3 or 4? Others have hinted the green dial will be modified, the picture here isn't that black of a dial so there may be another non-tourbillon model too......

I think there is literally zero chance the green will be modified. Again the company ethos is to not do iterations of the same color and piece. This is well understood. They will not make a green dial in a chrono or perp or tourbillon or some other iteration of the same as was a concept to do one style of each piece.

The Streamliner Green has always been a design I admired. Moser has been so close to getting my money on a number or occasions. They have some serious watchmaking chops.

But I am turned off by their over the top... zeal... in trying to be provocative. The hyping of the green felt somewhat manufactured. It is fantastic in its own merits and should sell out without breaking a sweat.

But IDK maybe I'm just a prude.

Not sure I’m following you on the company ethos point. They have a pioneer, endeavor, and Streamliner all in funky blue. The green Streamliner dial was actually first presented in a limited edition pioneer so it’s not even the first model in their catalog to use the color. They have shown a willingness to reuse colors in different models.

I don’t disagree. I’m talking about in the same line. I think that has been true. For example there would not be a green streamliner center seconds and then a green streamliner chrono. There could be a green other model but not in the same line fundamentally. The colors have been used across the brand but not redone generally with different iterations of the same model. Like with all other typical brands who basically keep the dial the same but offer a variant all throughout subtypes of the same concept.

Seems weird to me that after they finally struck gold with a model that is selling substantially above retail that they would retire it. I can understand Patek doing that but for a relatively new company I find it somewhat strange.

Well admittedly that was a special release and a bit of a trial balloon for the streamliner to see if it would stick or not.

It's a different dial with vertical brushing. Yes, gray and fumé but still quite different in reality.

The red gold looks really nice on the bracelet but I don’t like the overall look with the Vanta Black. The hour and minute hands have always bothered me a little and it stands out even more in a negative way against the Vanta Black. I would’ve preferred they just did it in stainless steel. Regardless it’ll sell like crazy. Also ouch that piece.

Comments on the new release of the Green Streamliner v2.0 ? Similar to the last model with the differences being a reworking of the prior calibre, to the new-ish calibre 201, and the logo is ghosted in this version.

Moser made similar modifications to the blue SL chrono. I’m kinda indifferent, if I had the original it certainly wouldn’t move the needle for me.

Thought was discontinued now returned. Not sure why. Good idea for new color. Wonder if discontinued comment was simply a ploy. If so not fond of that. Would have rather kept it exclusive. They already have been recycling some colors.
