126610 Sub Blue AR under cyclops?
I’m the proud owner of a new 126610 Submariner and I noticed that the cyclops has blue AR coating under the cyclops. I read a few other threads that this new 126610 Sub has AR coating on the whole crystal but strangely only the cyclops has the blue tint. The rest of the crystal is clear / colorless. Has anybody else noticed this on their 126610? This is my only Rolex with a cyclops in my collection so I have nothing to compare to unfortunately.

That blue tint is the window light reflecting. LOL
The AR is clear. |

126610 Sub Blue AR under cyclops?
Quote:
You may want to retract your LOL. It is blue actually. Brownish tint / clear on some and others are blue when they reflect. Same model. Same month on card. My 116610LN was of the blue variety also. I suspect Rolex just sources these from different manufacturers and there is more than one style running around in their production. Your watch is fine, OP Enjoy!

My three year old DJ141 has A/R coating under the Cyclops and has a prominent BLUE tinted jingle certain lighting. Plus, it makes it really much easier to read.

The new 2020 models like the OPs and updated Subs do have AR on the underside of the whole crystal.
Prior to this (demonstrated well on the GMT above) the AR was only under the cyclops. The crystal is flat, uniform thickness and thinner than the cyclops. I believe AR works best when light hits the surface straight on. It's also optimised for certain wavelengths so if it's working less than ideally you'll notice colour in reflections. So anyway OP your Sub looks correct. There's less reflection across the whole crystal than the GMT above and the reflected light level looks similar across the whole dial except there is some colour shift over the cyclops where the AR's 'tuning' to certain wavelengths is going to be highlighted. |

Its not blue. LOL
All Rolex cyclops are colourless AR coating. Its not like IWC where they purposely use a blue hue. The blue tint mostly seen by some people and in some pictures is by surrounding light reflections or your camera or your phone. Go ask RSC yourself. They will confirm it. Call them. Sydney RSC and HK RSC have confirmed for me on 2 different occasions. Here is a perfect example below This picture clearly shows the cyclops looks to have a blue AR This pictures its colourless. As advised by RSC to me on multiple occasons the cyclops AR is indeed clear. The blueish hue you sometimes see is due to the surrounding environments and factors. The crystal itself and AR itself is always clear for Rolex. |

You must have blue eyes. It is the reflection of your iris bouncing back.
....where did I pull that theory out of? |

Bumping this up. There is no blue tinge on the cyclops of my 2024 Starbucks, interesting Sometimes I feel like there is a brown tinge though

Rolex is all over the place with their AR lol. On some examples the cyclops appears dark blue (almost black), light blue on others... and others still, no color at all.
Completely normal. Just wish they would be consistent with respect to which references get which crystals... you'll see nearly every reference with an array of cyclops coloration from factory... bugs the hell outta me! Be consistent, ROLEX!
