Copenhagen Suggestions

Hey Everyone, I’m heading to Copenhagen. Any watch shops you would recommend?

You will find a concentration of the best at the upper part af "Strøget" (Walking street) near Kongens Nytorw
Rolex is Klarlund (has another shop acros Tivoli) and Bucherer at Illum.
And Hvelplund has alle the famous brands as Ole Mathisen.

Are the watch prices a lot more in Copenhagen? When I was in Copenhagen for a VMware conference I found it to be an expensive place to visit. The cost of eating out was significant, and my per diem did not go very far :)

Watches is as hard as every other city in the world - maybe more because it's a small country and one of the wealthiest in the world.

But DM for restaurants ;) The food scene is one of the best at the moment.

Have had the best experiences at Hvelplund and Bucherer when it comes to interactions.

Klarlund for me has more than often been the classic negative AD experience described so many times here

Across Illum (Bucherer) - WoS has opened an Omega and Breitling store. Great people in there as well. They have the new speedy in the window

Have also had a really good experience with Franz Jaeger & Me

What Highfly suggested. For grey, there is chrono.dk in Hellerup (a bit out of CPH). Another one in Kongens Nytorw called YourWatches.dk closed recently (they had bad reputation, anyway). There are also a lot of small shops around the city with vintage watches. Good luck, but who cares really when the weather is like that?! Enjoy your trip!

Here's a thread from my own watch trip to Copenhagen. Use Google Translate.

Live from Copenhagen! The 3 Rolex dealers are all owned by the same company, bucherer who bought them all up. They are not linked to accounts in the United States. They tried to look me up and I didn’t appear.

I was offered a few pieces that weren’t on display. The most notable was the new YG DeepSea. Apparently gold pieces are very unpopular here and are a lot easier to get. Just have to ask.

That's some good Intel for whomever may be traveling to Copenhagen. Thanks for the report. That YG DS might be a nice surprise for someone.

Greetings from a Dane here, residing in Copenhagen for 46 years.

For many years, we had one authorized dealer (Klarlund) who had 2 locations in Copenhagen.

Then in 2017, Bucherer opened in a department store called Illum, not long from Klarlund.

In 2022 Bucherer acquired Klarlund and the 2 locations, and in 2023, Rolex then acquired Bucherer.

:-)
