Long term trajectory?
2008 16710 with 3186 movement (late Z serial) or 2014 Batman 116710BLNR? Have to offload one of them. Which one should I keep and why? Investment upside? Better watch, etc.

Keep the 2008 16710. It's a classic and becoming rarer, which might make it a better investment long-term. The 2014 Batman is great too, but the 16710 has more historical appeal.

Tough question to answer both are fabulous references. I’d be doing whatever I could to keep them both. The 16710 is the most versatile watch if you are switching out the inserts but the Batman is a classic also….like I said tough to pick one

16710. With the three different bezel inserts plus the faded ones and the two bracelets you have so many watches in one! Plus good conditions 16710 are getting harder and harder to come buy and finally you have the 3186 which makes it even more special.

Watches make for pretty poor investments, and neither watch you mentioned is empirically rare.
If forced to sell one, keep whichever one you like more. |

Keep the 16710 - they are getting harder to find in good condition so prices likely to go up on good late models. 116710BLNR has dropped a fair bit recently so you’ll take a total bath but the 126710 is more popular so can likely buy back the older version at a reasonable price if and when you want to.

Hello from Japan.
Both are great watches, but if it were me, I would keep the 16710. The Cal.3186 GMTs are already becoming increasingly rare in the market at this stage. Even if you decide to let go of the 116710BLNR and later want it back, it would be relatively easy to acquire again. |

Keep the 16710 pepsi. When you are ready to sell you might land some sucker who will pay more for the 3186 movement.

If it was my choice I’d say Batty must fly away …

Keep the 5 digit Pepsi but wear it for Pete’s sake.
Too great of a watch to be stashed away in a safe as an “investment” piece that won’t ever make you a life changing amount of money Share it with the world by wearing it

I would keep the 2008 model. It will be more difficult and expensive to replace should you want.

16710 is the keeper, much better looking, the real thing, can change the bezel insert easily to have 3 different watches. An absolute no brainer.

I would keep the 5 digit. Late 5 digits were peak Rolex.

It depends on your preference, but I'd keep the 2008 16710 because it could be a better investment in the future as it turns a vintage collection.

16710 2008 I think...It's a vintage prospect and a good investment.

Forget "investment upside". If you want that, sell them both and put that money in the stock market. |

16710 is the one. Especially if you have a Roman or Stick dial. But regardless, the Z serial is super nice, love the crisp/tall coronet on the Z serials.
5 Digits >>>> 6 Digits imo. History will certainly say so - I'd bet big money on it.

Have to agree myself mainly old school not a fan of any of the watches with ceramic inserts, but myself would prefer a 16710 with the cal 3185 over the cal 3186.
