Seems odd that there's apparently no-one waiting for a black dial at your AD, does it not? How many people do you know who waited for one?

What a strange story. Very, very strange. Can you name this AD?

Think about how much time it would have saved all of us of TRF?
Amen. I guess the SA wanted to control a human?

Is this ‘the call’?

I think black may be the least sought after color. Also, for reference, I waited an entire year for my silver dial 36. Of the 7 colors available in 36 mm, the silver is probably near the middle, as far as how easy it is to obtain. Black and blue are likely less in demand. The remaining five colors are more sought after with turquoise, candy pink and celebration being the most difficult. Green and silver are in the middle. Just my own observation.

Yes I've enjoyed visiting the AD and trying on watches and getting a thrill of "will this be the next watch."

That feeling is entirely different from expectations being unmet. This would be frustrating for me because I did the first thing, which is try on a bunch of watches and found the one I liked. Now the AD is not being transparent about what he has available and suggesting I purchase an OP I don't like.

This "mystery" game only works when the AD levels up not down. If I mentioned in passing I want a GMT but expect you to deliver a Sub and when I arrive a GMT is waiting for me - great surprise!

But if I expect a Sub and you say we have an OP, I would be irritated.

Watches of Switzerland is the worst. Don't expect they will be selling Rolex much longer.

Never had a bad visit to my AD, their coffee is excellent and I’m always offered bubbles when we’re talking, sometimes it’s nice to just drop in for a chat.

Occasionally I get a freebie, but the most important bit is that it keeps your name in the SA’s mind when allocating the next delivery of watches.

Well said. I did a whole thread on my very surreal last visit. I try to stop in once a month. Always a good time.

One month later… it has come :) Just picked up!

2 months on the waitlist for this I think is pretty good.

Honestly, I’ve had the most amazing experience and my AD really made it a wonderful journey (which I always thought it might be longer).

I can proudly sign: OP 36 Silver Dial

Apparently it’s quite difficult to post pictures here

Can't imagine getting the call and missing it, but I don't feel like I'm ever going to get a call. I have always thought they'd probably call me while I was 3,000 miles away and on vacation somewhere with my family with no good option to fly back and forth to get it! The watches they'd offer me (because I'm just a peasant) wouldn't be worth it.
