Educate Me on Partial/WR service

How often/under what conditions is a partial/WR service recommended from AP? I don't see a specific recommendation on their site, so not sure if folks know from talking to them.

Also, do they replace movement components in a partial service? If so, not sure how much different this is from a complete service. Straight from their site:

The dissassembly and cleaning of the case, the checking of the movement and the replacement of damaged components is necessary to ensure the watch's water resistance.

Maybe they are only referring to WR components like gaskets, etc.?

I suspect it's related to the complimentary annual check-up, i.e. if the annual check-up shows there's a problem with the WR, then they would recommend it be fixed under the partial/WR service.

I agree that the service is likely to be limited to the components that affect WR.

I did a WR service on my diver a few years back a couple of years into ownership. For me it was part esthetic as the rubber gasket had som cracks but also part piece of mind as my diver gets a lot of water action.

With that said, none of my APs have never failed a water resistance test.
