After reading this whole thead I have come to the conclusion that:
It can set it off or it can't set it off. It will set it off or it won't set it off. It has set it off or it has never set it off. It's possible that it can set it off or it's impossible. Sometimes it sets off or sometimes it doesn't. Have I missed something? |

In my experience, TSA folks just follow the letter of the law. In my years of travels, I have never had a Rolex set off a metal detector.

You are right there my friend. Coming back from the US, I had to clear customs in Amsterdam and it took me damn near 45 minutes to convince the customs agent that my MacBook was purchased in Europe and I was bringing it back, I finally had to show him the keyboard and the "Ñ" along with the euro plug before he would let me go. He sure wanted me to give up some Euros!

There is no reason to believe that the TSA agent would have any idea what a Rolex will or will not do..
Last week he was probably sacking groceries.... this week he is an "agent"...
