First GMT (Sprite Jubilee) Crown Alignment
Hello fellas,
Finally got my first GMT (jubilee Sprite) today from the grey market. It's an exquisite piece. Can't help but being an OCD, I realised the positioning of the crown (when fully wound down) is facing downwards. Attached some pictures of it. I know this is a very commonly-discussed topic. My earlier Rolexes' crowns were more or less upright, therefore can't help but to ask if anyone had similar observations with their GMTs where crowns are facing downward. Thanks |

Perhaps they should get rid of the emblem on the winding crown, then everyone's crown would like up somewhere. But makes no difference if emblem is upright or downsideup. And if it did line up over the years of wearing the seal in the crown head would wear slightly then would not line up.So when screwing down the winding crown just screw down just finger tight no force needed.

If they get rid of the emblem on the crown, so much therapy will be spared.

The crown isn't what would bother me on that particular watch of yours.

Congrats on getting your first GMT (jubilee Sprite)! That’s awesome!
About the crown positioning, it’s definitely a common topic. Some models may have slight variations, and it can depend on the specific batch or even the way the crown was installed during manufacturing. |

Crown position is completely random and the orientation moves over time due to seal compression anyway.

If it really bothers you, just back it off a bit.

Congrats and enjoy the watch. I've only ever had 1 watch that the crown lined up but RSC fixed that after I sent it in for service after chipping the crystal in a motorcycle accident (the watch fared better than I did). It's nice when it lines up but not a priority for me at least.
