Bumping this back up. I recently acquired the oysterflex yellow gold Daytona with champagne/ full black sub dials (long way to not say Pikachu). It’s absolutely gorgeous. The bracelet though, at the end of the day I feel it digging into my wrist a bit. I tried wearing it looser which helps- but then it kindly floats on your wrist. My jubilee GMT drapes my wrist and is fine all day. Seriously thinking of flipping it for a full gold bracelet. The dial I got is so coveted and hard to get, but I have to be able to wear it all day as needed too. Anyone made the change or you just get used to it?

It took me a few attempts for to find the right fit with my OF WG Daytona, and at times correct if too loose will roll around a bit, but once I did get the sizing right it’s so comfy on ..

It looks to me like the fins make the main part of the strap itself sit above your wrist leaving a gap.

Is that correct or if you have the strap snug on your wrist does it flatten to have the actual strap fit flush on your wrist?

I've never tried one on but find them very interesting.

I love my Oysterflex Daytona.

Works great in a collection, would not want it to be my only nice watch though.

I’m so thankful, I am not stuck in the “rubber strap in a gold watch” is stupid mentality. So limiting.

As said by others would not buy a PM watch fitted from factory with a rubber band and no option to put a PM bracelet.

I does beg the question, why Precious Metal and not SS.

To me, it would make sense to offer it on the SS references as an option or (god forbid) included with the Watch like some either brands do

If I’m going PM, I want the full Monty, bracelet and all, especially at this price point

OF is extremely comfortable. Especially with the glide-lock on 126xxx models. I actually prefer it over Oyster and Jubilee on my Sub and DJ41.

As for the “PM watches need to be with PM bracelet not rubber strap” it is a pretty dumb argument. No one says that about PP Aquanaut right? :) Plus full PM Daytonas don’t come with ceramic bezel which is a huge upgrade given how gentle PM bezel is.

I always thought the rubber was "lame". I get the functionality and ergonomics.. but still. I believe there are rules

Rule: Rubber straps are for dive watches, which is why no one says anything about the Aquanaut.

I first fell in love with the OF when I tried on the WG YM 42. I found it extremely comfortable and rivaling my 5168G.

Since picking up the WG OF Daytona, I still enjoy the comfort. When you take the watch off, it's heavy because of the precious metal but on the wrist its lightweight. I'm a big fan and will look to add more OF Daytonas to my collection.

Never thought of the aquanaut as a diver. Doesn't meet the minimum 200m, and lacking unidirectional bezel.

I'm fairly certain you're kidding. Frankly rubber straps are for anyone who can afford one and wants one.

I really like the Daytona on OF. The rubber is easier to wear than full gold bracelet. The glidelock helps dial in perfect fit. Weight is lower and gives a very sporty yes understated look (vs bracelet). One of my fav combos from Rolex.

Anyone who can afford one?? Now I think YOU must be kidding!

I wasn’t kidding. They are meant for watches that get wet. I have a few Isofranes that I love, for my divers. For non divers, I like high quality leather straps. I have a box full of leather, rubber and Natos. I call it my “box o’ straps”.

I have yet to see any Daytonas or Yachtmasters at my AD. If I do, I will definitely try them on. I just feel Ike, if I bought a $35,000 gold Daytona, I’d want it on a gold bracelet, though I’m sure it would cost more, if it were so configured. I know they are probably very comfy, and it makes sense to me on a Yachtmaster. I just don’t get why they would put it on a chronograph. I guess, though, I have seen other chronos with rubber racing straps, in the past.

One of the ladies at my local AD wears a oysterflex Daytona and it’s the best looking watch I’ve ever seen on a woman. It works!

Yes if Rolex made it with a quick release.

Quite a few are being damaged during strap change?

That said, I think if I ever did go OF, I'd have to get a variant with the glidelock!

Plus the price difference is now 10k. For that you get 10 gold links. That’s it. I’d rather spend that 10k and get a SS sports watch. Best of both worlds that way. If the difference was a lot less then 10k I think it would be more of a talking point.

I was in the no OF camp. But times have changed and I love it. Looks great on the Daytonas with the black ceramic and the end links.

People are paying the same amount if not more for the OF models on the secondary than the full gold counterparts.

Does yours have the glidelock? If yes you should be able to hone in the fit.

Would be curious if you had the choice between the 2 what made you decide to go for the PN?
