Incoming Credor Locomotive

I was at a Grand Seiko event in Bangkok looking to buy this new Credor reference. The regional manager was there and informed me that they have lost status as a Credor dealer to a well known micro-brand watch dealer located just 5 minutes from the event. Long story short, I visited the dealer right after the event, put my name down for one and now I have the watch. The dial is impressive and the quality is right up there with the top Genta designed watches.

I will post some more photos once I get a chance. The watch is 38.8mm and it wears slightly smaller than that due to having no lugs. Imho, the watch suits smaller wrists than something like a 37mm Royal Oak or the new 38mm 62GS references. Bracelet's feels comfortable. Material is similar to any Titanium GS watches.

Congrats, really nice.

I really wanted this watch but wasn't able to get one, made several calls to credor boutiques in Japan the day the watch was announced, but they all said their allocation were already sold.

Wow, at US$12,000, it is way out of my price range. Beautiful watch and congratulations. Btw, someone has it listed on Chrono24 at $18k!

I heard from Grand Seiko rep. that next year they will probably release a second version of this watch. The watch will probably come with different dial color or even case and bracelet material. I’m not sure if this is true but it is possible since a lot of work went into recreating the Locomotive. A limited run of 300 pieces is just too low for essentially a brand new line of watches.

Wow, that’s an amazing turn of events! It sounds like attending the Grand Seiko event was worth it, especially with the opportunity to snag that Credor reference right after. The impressive dial and quality make it a fantastic addition to your collection, especially comparing it to Genta-designed watches. I’d love to hear more about your impressions of the watch now that you have it, what features stand out to you the most?

My first impression is that this watch is very comfortable to wear. The build quality of the case and the bracelet seems to be one step above my GS Shunbun. However, I’d have preferred a butterfly type clasp like a Nautilus or RO compare to the one that came with the watch. This watch also doesn’t fly under the radar like my other GS’s. I’d guess because of its resemblance to other Genta’s watches made people take second glances.
