So…got the call

From the AD that a Sub-date has my name on it. I previously had the prior generation that I got for $7300 (a 17% discount unbelievably) but was offered $14000 and couldn’t refuse it. I LOVED the prior generation. Put myself on the list two months ago and got the call. Didn’t think I’d get the call and haven’t researched it much. How is the new one? Looks smaller to me which I don’t like. Maybe it’s an illusion. What say you?

It’s a 41mm and feels bigger than the previous generation. Great looking watch.

Improved proportions and looks much better IMO. Only thing I didn't like was the huge clasp. It spanned the whole back of my wrist and I considered going back to a 116610 which fit much better.

While I've never owned the 116610, I've tried it on a ton of times. The 126610 feels like an upgrade to me. The proportions look better in my opinion. The lugs look awkwardly fat on the 116 to my eye now. The bracelet also seems to seamlessly integrate with the case in a way that is very fluid.
I think you'll be very impressed with it!

Is it still a good buy at MSRP? I also have a 2016 GMT I, 2023 Batgirl, and 2020 Two Tone Sky Dweller black dial.

Yes. That’s why I unloaded it. But I regret it. I just hope I will love the new model 41mm the same.

After you've worn it a few days, I think you'll be realizing you made good choices!

Buy it. You don’t like it, sell it like you did the last one. Then you’ll know you never really liked it enough to keep. Take the winnings and venture to another watch.

I was thinking it was an LV based on the price.

I think the newer Subs are even nicer.
Better proportioned case and lugs along with the slightly wider bracelet and clasp.
I owned the previous generation but have no regrets with moving into the newest ones.

I think you’ll like that latest as well.

I’m not a huge fan of the larger clasp, but it’s not a deal breaker as I have the wrist for it.

I have owned multiples from each generation of Submariners and until I picked up my 124060 I would have told you I preferred the last generation. Now I would tell you I can not tell much of a difference in wear with my 116610LV. The only difference for me is the 124060 has been sent in to the RSC for movement issues, time keeping, and I have never had to service a Submariner before going back to 1993. I also typically only keep them for a few years and then swap them around. If you like the watch then I would get it and at retail is nice. Let us know what you decide.
