Batgirl Vs Sub date Vs Panda Daytona

Hi folks

Hope everyone is well

I currently have the batgirl and considering either going back to a brand new sub date with cash my way approx £2k or going to a panda and chucking in approx £8k

I need to decide which way to go, keep batgirl, or move to sub or panda and then be done with my decision.

The batgirl I like but feel sub looks classier but then also maybe more plain/ boring? And it’s hard to get exact adjustment without glidelock

Sub is a great GADA watch, but is bat more special? And panda, what about that? Could that be the best all round?

These are all great Rolex sports models. I don’t think anyone can answer your questions but you. Good luck with your choice!

Personally, with all your doubts, I would just stay put and enjoy my BLNR on jubilee.

GMT > Sub > Daytona

All are great options.

I have both a Submariner and a BLNR. Personally, I think that the BLNR feels more special to wear, but I find that the brushed centre links of the Sub are more practical for heavy wear.

A Sub and BLNR on Jubilee are a great sports watch pairing - and two watches for (about) the same price as a Daytona. Why not get both..!

Upgrade to a 126518 or 126519 at retail that’s a Daytona OF with the glide lock. If you are going to upgrade to a Daytona upgrade to this one. Especially if you can get one at retail.

I agree with this advice ^^^.

I wouldn’t change it up unless you feel strongly about the other choices

For me it would depend….is this an only watch? Or part of a collection?

Only you can figure that out.
For a one and only, a Sub would be my choice.

I prefer the SS Submariner ND to any of them and I own the BLNR and have had all of the Daytona's. The Glide lock clasp is a work of art to me and I get a perfect fit every time I wear it.

Thanks for the replies so far, it was a 116 ref panda the one I was considering

I was leaning towards sub mainly due to getting that perfect fit on the GL, I can’t seem to get the perfect fit on the batgirl. Also the sub may stand the test of time more and always be a classic?

It would be a one watch only apart from an Apple Watch

I own a BLNR GMT / Sub 41 / Daytona 126500 black - the daytona is the most special of the trio to me. The new updates on the 126 are perfect in everyway - wears slightly smaller than the GMT / Sub however. The GMT / Sub are the most similar. They are different wearing experiences IMO.

Between the black sub and the blnr gmt , the black sub definitely is more plain on the wrist. The single color black bezel, the lack of PCL , the less busy bezel engravings and the lack of GMT colored hand all make it more plain. But that's also part of the appeal for the sub IMO. Simple, classy, and stealthier. I love my Sub 41 more than I thought I would, but I would rank it right behind the GMT BLNR if I had to.

The Sub 41 has the thicker bracelet / thicker clasp in the glidelock, and I love these features. The lack of PCL also make it a much more less scratch magnet type of daily wearer for me.

The one watch to do it all in this trio if you were to keep one only is the GMT. However all 3 would work just fine as daily watches - your heart should tell you.

How could anyone possibly answer this? All three of those watches would be a nice collection. Your 1/3 there so just add and forget about trading.

I think stay put with the GMT. Add a 5 digit sub down the line and when you are ready a PM Daytona. That would give you a versatile 3 watch situation. Three fresh from the catalog modern Rolex hype watches will leave you feeling bored. Taking your time, finding what you are really connected with, and chasing that is all part of the fun.

From a person with direct experience. I tried to go from the BLNR back to the SubLN. Huge mistake and VERY fortunate my AD got me another BLNR. After you have the BLNR, the subLN date or no date is too boring for me.

BLNR

More interesting than a Sub, and more useful and legible than a Daytona

my vote is for the sub, but it really comes down to preference if you have the funds.
i like the GMT, but it wouldn't be my ONLY rolex, and although i like the daytona, if i were to buy one it would be one of the older references with the sub dials spaced out further like the OG paul newman if that makes any sense.
The submariner is iconic in its own way and does everything just about anyone needs, can be dressed up or down, and has less that can go wrong with it in terms of complications. thats not to say that the GMT or daytona isnt reliable by any means

If you dont want 2 watches, what you have now is the best of the 3. The sub is pretty basic and boring (monochromatic), and the daytona with the polished center links is gonna look pretty bad after a short time of daily wear. Scratches are not the end of the world but if I was going to daily any of those 3 it would be the batgirl every time.

Batgirl Vs Sub date Vs Panda Daytona

I’d stick with what you have and aim for a Daytona from the AD. If that never happens, you’re still wearing an amazing watch that I probably like equal to the white 500.

I would not go to a modern Sub LN. You will be underwhelmed after your GMT on jubilee. At least, I would be underwhelmed
