Lange Saxonia Automatic vs Lange 1815 Up/Down

For those who have owned one/both, which one would you choose? Please don't suggest "buy what you like" or "depends, one is automatic, one is MW" or "depends on what's in your collection." Respectfully, I understand those details.

More looking for folks with real experience with these pieces and "regrets." "I thought I wanted X but really later on wish I had Y." That kind of feedback.

I love the Sax-0-Mat with the 12 at 12 o'clock in both WG/black dial (351.027) and platinum/silvery gray dial (351.025). I'm not a fan of the other Saxonia automatics.

I really, really want a WG/blue dial 1815 Up Down (221.027) but they are eye watering expensive when they pop up for sale, which isn't often. The 36mm size, quirky placement of gangreserve, and unusual blue dial make this the standout in the 1815 U/D range for me. I like the other Up Downs but wouldn't consider buying one.

I have the Saxonia Thin rose gold. Paired it with a blue strap and love it. I often pair it with a t-shirt and jeans and whilst I know it's not really intended for that look, I think it works well. There is so much perfection in the tiny details.

I did contemplate the 1815 many times and ultimately decided on the Saxonia thin. I can't really give reasons why; it just sang to me more in the boutique.

It's an old saying but correct here in my view: you can't make a wrong choice.

I have the 1815 U/D and have seriously looked at the Saxonia a bunch of times. The key difference for me is that the 1815 is a less dressy dial due to the embellishments around the numbers and the subdials. It has the appeal of a classic pocketwatch and in my opinion looks best with more casual outfits or if your suiting tastes run to bolder colors and patterns. The Saxonia is your classic, formal, understated dress watch.
