Should I wait or buy used?

Hi there,

I have been looking for a recently issued, GMT pepsi bezel. There seems to be all kinds available through non authorized dealers. But I don't feel comfortable dealing online.

I also read that Rolex may be releasing a Ceramic Pepsi Bezel in 2010. Can anyone comment on this? Is it true?

Also, if you know anyone who has a relatively new Pepsi Bezel for sale. Please let me know.

I'm actually facing the same dilemma, I want the ability change the inserts and to have bi-colored inserts that I can easily swap. If they would make that in ceramic then it will be worth the wait. Can you really swap the ceramic insert or is it permanently placed in the bezel?

I understood from the video on Rolex.com that the whole bezel is made from ceramic, there is no insert.

It looks and feels like an insert to me. But I can't imagine that ceramic inserts would be swappable -- the ceramic is not at all bendable like aluminum is. I also can't imagine popping the bezel off of the GMTIIc like I did on my 16710.

Rolex has said in the past that they have been unsuccessful in developing a bi-color insert that would meet their standards... I have not heard any solid evidence that anything has changed there..

The insert is ceramic, not the entire bezel, but it does not just pop out like the aluminum one does, and if it did, then it would be as fragile as a fine china plate and just as expensive....

You would need to change the entire bezel and there is no word on the two colored bezel coming anytime soon. As Larry said they can't get it up to their standards yet, time.....

I haven't heard anything on the bezel. However, I will comment that I have had many successful dealings online, so I don't think you should hesitate, although I would recommend you do your homework. Many online dealers are quite honorable. I would also considered the many sellers you can find on this forum. Many of the forum users have bought from them and they are forum members as well. Good luck on finding the model you want.

buy a nice 16710 pepsi now.. do not wait for the "unkown".. before you know it, it may be 2012 and still no gmt c pepsi, and you have not had the opportunity to enjoy the pepsi you could have been wearing.. IMO. i love mine. for a change up, i bought a 63200 super jubilee and put it on my m series pepsi. love it.

I agree there is no reason to speculate on what may or may not happen... If you like the GMT II Pepsi, pick up a used one at a good price and if/when Rolex comes out with the bi color ceramic you can sell the Pepsi...the best part is you would most likely not lose any money unless you completely ruined the watch I sell $$$ for a living and everyone is always waiting for the 4% mortgage rate...Guess what, they could save a TON of $$$ at 4.375 but they are hoping for something that may never come... Bottom line they miss the opportunity completely for a maybe. Get your Pepsi, wear it, enjoy it, love it and if something new comes out get it if you so desire

No one knows when a ceramic Pepsi will appear, but I wouldn't wait, as I expect waiting will cause frustration for another year or two or three or . . .

I'm hugely partial to the GMTIIC; however, I also adore the GMTII and the three bezel inserts. Honestly, what an amazing and flexible watch. IMHO buy one and enjoy now.

Oh, and as for a source, I would get feedback and buy from a reputable dealer on this forum.

Buy a good used Pepsi now. No one knows when (and if!) the ceramic Pepsi will come.

2. Ive run into a few dealers online in Florida. They claim to have brand new pepsi bezel GMT's. Is this possible?

I dont believe the watch comes with 3 inserts...one of the above... Coke (black/red), Pepsi (blue/red) or Black. You can purchase the inserts additionally...

I would assume it could be...An AD may still have one if you call around or I believe swiss-wrist.com has them and I have heard they are reputable but check them out first.
