I’m thinking the Date needs a full service, so we’ll likely get the watch a polished up like new Quote:

I feel your pain.
The repairs/ servicing cost puts me off owning a large number of watches and especially a large number of “cheaper” watches. If a SS Rolex needs serviced every 10 years for 10% of its value, I’m ok with 1% a year maintenance. It frustrated me recently when I spent about £900 getting two watches serviced that were probably worth at best £3k between them. That’s much more painful as I also know they’ll probably be back there in 5-7 years. |

And then there was 3.
As of this morning… My exp II is going to join the submariner at rsc. Grand seiko off on a solo trip. Looking forward to seeing what new abuse Rsc has in store for their customers. So far I’m told by the local AD a watch will not be serviced without a bracelet. If it doesn’t have the bracelet the customer is required to buy one. |

Brian, sorry to hear the bad news. I hope your wife's 34mm Date comes back better than new!

Sorry to hear it Brian.
So far I have traded watches for new watches in part to constantly have a new warranty. Also because I get bored and like to chase a new watch. So far I have had 3 watches sent back for service. A Breitling, a Tudor GMT, and a DJ 41 with 32xx. All on warranty, no cost. |

Probably going to insist on replacing crystal as well because of my cyclopsechtomy (just have to hammer it off again Quote:
Polarizing piece per friends of mine, some love it and some AP can’t adjust the lack of weight?

There is a lot to like about the Ti YM. I handled one last Christmas but didn’t get much time with it (picture an impatient wife a two teenagers rolling eyes) Back then I was underwhelmed… This time around I had a good half hour with it and there are many positives, some of which I think you’d appreciate. 1. Legibility in spades. 2. Caseback profile is low. 3. Thin ( under 12 mm) 4. Useful 120 click bi-bezel The Ti material is interesting to be sure. Obviously it’s lightweight but in a weird way, I sort of liked that. The watch stayed planted on my wrist (even though it wasn’t sized). I’m not as sure on the finish and the color. I’d describe it as a slightly “more grainy” satin finish compared to say a Submariner. The metal itself isn’t as dark as some Ti watches I’ve seen, but it is a duller look compared to 904l steel. The cerachrom bezel is a home run IMHO. The polished raised markers are really well done and provide for just the right amount of subtle pop Overall, I’d say I’m coming around on this one. |

“Here sir, why don’t you try on some watches while you are here….”
Like any good dealer, they are fueling the addiction!! Anyway, more seriously, the Ti YM looks great and looks perfect on you Brian! Something to consider for sure…. ;-) |

while YM is compelling I find it hard to imagine the 14060 being replaced. The minor detail that is virtually impossible to overcome is my profound appreciation for lug holes. Also it would be easy to say I don’t like redundancy in my collection but I currently and unexpectedly find myself with two OP

Agreed gives the owner to many strap options. Rolex does not like end user options.
