Fred,absolutely brilliant macro shots !!

Now isnt that Panerai modded ETA movement a beauty ?? Simple,manual wind,strong,great record and easily serviced and regulated.Great accuracy too !!

I couldn't agree more.
The ETA6497 is a direct descendant of pocket watch Brevettato mvmt from Rolex in 1930 - 50s thru licensing & ownership changes.
I think only big pocket watches mvmt like Angelus & Brevettato (now ETA6497) can fit nicely without the need of gasket.
YES, I think 6497 is a very robust and accurate as it's a proven pocket watch mvmt derived directly from the greatest of pedigree in Brevettato and the bridge & regulateur are just amazing to add into it's beauty.
I think it really bring out the Rads & Luminors.
