Sadly this could happen to any watch or jewellery items. It is why some stores offer some sort of "extended warranty" more like insurance by them, to replace any stones that possibly get lost etc etc. Also, with stuff like this it is good to look into local companies who can insure all of your jewellery and watches (might go under your home owners policy). I have owned Raymond Weil before, not my favourite brand now but they make some good stuff, and again it could happen to anything. Hopefully it does not happen again and it is nice to see your wife using the watch for all of that stuff
