I'd buy both. Buy what you can afford now and save for the other. Both are iconic and will never go out of style.

Speedy-Sub

You´re right you have a dilemma right now....
I´m fortunate to have both and still can´t decide which one to put on in the morning.

Right now, I solved it by wearing the Sub to work and use the Speedy on my free time.
I think the sub is better for everyday use with sapphire crystal and waterproof to 300 meters on the other hand the Speedy looks great with the plexi and amazing dial.

Right now I´m really into vintage looking watches and think the feeling of Plexi glass is really special the dial looks so much better.

The "problem" with The Sub is that it is so perfect that it is almost boring.

If you get them properly sized they both sits well on the wrist.
My Speedy from 2006 is 148 grams, and the Sub from 2000 is 129 gram.

I wear the Sub more often than the Speedy, but everytime I wear the Speedy I think, if "Rolex" were written on the dial it would be considered the perfect most beautiful watch in the world...and the price is just right/if you compare to the Daytona.

Another concern is that I see the Sub more often on the streets, if you want to be a bit more unique, choose the Speedy!

As you mentioned a real dilemma, the Sub and the Speedy are my favourite watches and I can´t really help you in another way than saying "In the end if you are into watches, you will probably get both. Go for the one that you can get the best deal on, and work from there.

I´ll try to post some pictures...To inspire you.
Good luck and let us now what happens.
//Fred
