Don't think there's a double-red sub...

Just make sure the dial is not refinished or even worse, repainted red over white. That seems to happen quite often.

There are lots of "refinished" dials that were not originally red floating around out there.

I have a collegue who inherited a double red SD, I told him what it was probably worth and it has been in the vault eversince.
My collegue didn't think it was worth much since it was so old and almost ready for the bin.
Nice to have seen one though.

We have been to London today and the Burlington Arcade has the biggest Red Sub stock at the moment from what we saw. The only price tag I saw was about £10,000.

Price is always a factor of condition.

Study some of the information here,

http://www.doubleredseadweller.com/

When looking at references like the 1680 RED, buying the seller is as important as the watch.

90% of the red Subs out there have red print over "Submariner".
Make sure you've got your loup handy to spot the red-over-white paint.
Good luck!
