Help needed
Hi guys,
I am looking to buy a SS Daytona black dial for a while now. I was referred to a private collector by a good friend of mine and he gave me 2 options: new one for 8,200euros and a used one (2006) for 6,200euros. How can I be 100% that these are real watches? There is any serial number or anything else to look for on order to double check and confirm that they are real? Tks in advance. |

The only "real" way to tell if it is authentic is to open the case...remove the back by an experienced horologist and inspect the movement.....good luck

The Daytona is a classic but is also very well copied by scammers......The best thing to do is meet the seller at an AD and have it verified by them before any money is exchanged!!!! Private collector or not,always beware and look out for yourself!!!! Good luck and enjoy this great forum!! Rob.

Yup AD verification... and if you see the subdials working as a calendar function run away as fast as you can...
