Dropped the Sub...

Aggh.

From the nightstand to the hardwood floor! I *think* it landed right smack on the crystal. I keep scouring it for a ding on the bezel or case. Cannot see anything yet. I hope something does not catch my eye later on...

Ugh.

Sorry, had to vent.

Sounds like the Sub took the fall with a grain of salt. Hope everything is ok. I think the only thing I would keep an eye out for if everything looks ok physically is accuracy. Sorry to hear that.

I think hardwood is more forgiving than tile. Glad it didn't damage it.

If you look closely you'll find a dent in the floor. Those watches are heavy and tougher than wood.

Surface damage wise I'm sure it's fine. The only thing I'd worry about is if the watch needs to be regulated. Happened to one of my watches. Of course, nothing that about 20 minutes at a competent watchmaker can't fix. Glad everything's ok.

Personally I wouldn't take the chance. I'd get another new Rolex just in case there's damage you can't see. Maybe a GMT or a Daytona?

I've been looking for a while. The Sub drop was about 3 feet. I think I am safe...just a stupid thing to do.

It's fine. These are tanks! I was at a Halloween party 9 days ago and was admiring my friend's SS Datejust, which was like 7 years old. As he was holding up his wrist, the watch fell off and onto the concrete garage floor. I was freaked out and it will haunt my dreams forever, but he picked it up and it was fine. The crystal and case were fine. It kept perfect time, as well. He said that earlier in the day his bracelet screw was all the way out and he screwed it back in, but obviously it didn't do the trick. No worries, these watches can take a lot! It's more scary to drop a Rollie than it is damaging, usually!
