While I am new to Rolex, I have been collecting watches since I got married in the 90's. I just purchased a Milgauss GV for my dad and agree with you about the subconscious differences. I had narrowed the field down to a SS Daytona, 50th Sub, GMT IIC and the Milgauss GV. All were available and I was able to compare them side by side. Maybe it was the simplicity, maybe the more solid feel (at least compared to the Sub and Daytona), I'm not sure. Price was not part of the equation as they were all in the range I had in mind. Regardless, the watch I purchased was the Milgauss. Hopefully my dad will enjoy it. |

Here is my beauty. Two weeks old, one small scratch on the PCL of the clasp. But i love it i really do. It makes my old Airking look positively small. LOL.
I just cannot stop looking at the TT and YG and green dialled version! Enjoy. |

I agree hands down no questions asked for me the LV Sub and the GMT IIC are the best Rolex makes. I would not trade my LV Sub or my GMT II C for a DayDate or any other Rolex.

I "like" the GMT IIC but I don't love it.
Don't get me wrong I think its a great watch, but it could be outstanding and instead its like a franken-hybrid of the sub and an explorer. I know I'll get flamed for this but here are my thoughts on what should be changed: It shouldn't have mercedes hands I hate the 24 hour hand, it should be more proportionate in some way I like the Bezel, but not the max-dial PCL's have to go I just wish it were a more unique watch... ok flame away,

For me, the Triangle at the top is too "broad"!
This, of course may be the case with all numbers on the Bezel, but this Detail sticks out for me! GMT IIc - ok ( TT better ), Ceramic Sub - NO!!! Hermann |

Completely agree with JJ.
If you like the looks of the new GMT or not is of course a matte of personal taste. Maybe not the most beautiful Rolex ever – but close I’ve owned the TT 116713 and SS 116710 version (only 116710 now) and I must admit it’s the most comfortable and practical Rolex I’ve ever had. Perfect size etc ……….. The perfect everyday’s watch |

I agree, for the most part, that this is Rolex at its evolutionary best. Take what was already excellent and just make it even better. I'm sure the new Submariner will take the spotlight when it is introduced [hopefully] next year. I believe the Explorer II is due for an overhaul. Please bring back the big orange hand Rolex! |

I have to agree with JJ, The GMTIIC is by far one of the best engineered Rolex's, I REALLY like it and I am the kind of guy that always thought that the SD 16600 was my grail watch and would take all other Rolex's hands down, but as much as I like the GMTIIC I think I will trade it for the new ceramic SubDate if it is as nice as I hope, I really think the SubDate Bezel is more stylish and not as busy as the GMT, and hopefully it will not get the PCL's (but I have to admit these PCL is growing on me)

Absolutely agree. I've had my GMT IIC for three weeks and feel bad for my other watches. I have trouble walking past my watch case as I can hear my other watches crying out for attention.

I decided last week to order a new GMT II. After a weekend of irritating my wife by discussing GMT II vs. GMT IIc I ordered the GMT IIC yesterday. I hope you are right JJ.
