Popped into An AD Today......

.....and now I'm dreaming of a YG model!!!!

Today is my husband's bday so we've been running around and of course, that included the mall! I dragged him into an AD so that I could try on some gold models I've long admired.... BAD IDEA as I'm now seriously dreaming of one of them!!!

I tried on 3 watches....YG Daytona with white dial (same as on my SS), YG Daytona with black Newman dial, YG DD with white roman dial and fluted bezel/president bracelet.

WOW, WOW, WOW....I have to say that my faves are the YG Daytona with white dial and the YG DD!!! Hubba hubba My hubby loves the WG Sub with blue dial. Alas, we didn't leave with anything, but I do have a new grail in mind now. I never imagined myself wearing a gold watch, but these are simply spectacular! Perhaps in a few years!

A girl can dream!!!

Karis,

Regardless of personal tastes and fashion trends... yellow gold is timeless for a good reason. I think that you just experienced why. Since you already have 1/2 of a YG DD coming your way (someday it will get there - LOL), I'd say head for that one.

I've never seen this one! Very nice, but WHY did you have to let me see that???

Now I may "need" another watch!!

So you just "popped in to the AD today," eh?

I will say this about gold, Karis, it'll never go out of style. It's sought after for a reason. Its luster, divine heaviness (borrowed from Goldfinger ) and sheer beauty make it as timeless as anything on earth.

I think it'd be totally cool if you got yourself a gold watch.

You're so right about the classic appeal of YG. I just couldn't take my eyes off the ones I tried today. Magnificent!

Thanks John! It was tough to leave them behind, but I didn't have a choice Heck, I really have nothing to complain about considering what I have now. The sales guy almost fell over when he saw me wearing a SS Daytona! Pretty funny.

great choice Karis. That is a stunning piece! Gotta love that dial with roman numerals. I have recently tried on a WG DDII with ivory dial and left the AD thinking exactly the same - it would be nice if I was able to leave with it.

I am sticking with SS...

Cannot remember from your wrist shot Karis if you are sporting gold or platinum wedding hardware.

IMO, I like to keep my watches matching my ring - Platinum - so that means SS for me. Which is cool.

I also match it to the hardware on belt buckles, pens, cufflinks, etc.

My wedding rings are platinum. Ideally, my watch would match them, but hey, I can make an exception for a DD!!!

Well, aren't you accommodating!

Good luck!

I am going to try to lay low and conjure up a Vintage Sub for the next time I hemorrhage cash!

Hi Karis,

You are one dangerous woman to be walking around with in a mall!!

Seriously, that DD with black Romans and white dial is quite the stunner. I presume it's the standard 36 mm model, but on your wrist, hell......it would blow the rest of the competition into oblivion!!

Good luck - JJ

My middle name is dangerous, JJ!!! The dial actually has YG romans and is quite breathtaking IMO. Yes, it is the standard 36mm. Just perfect for me!

I hope to be able to buy it someday in the future!
