Insurance explaination

Or it fell overboard, or you knocked your arm into a metal object and damaged or distroyed your watch. It should cover all these types of occurances. Be careful, some company's exclude travel, hotels, baggage, etc. These company's are usually "Non-Admitted Carriers". Anyone who would like to consult on thier coverage please feel free to sent me a private message and I will be glad to assit, and evaluate what you are being offered. I have over 35 years experience in the field. On major point: Be sure not to obtain what I call a "feel good" appraisal. In other words, your retailer says: I will sell it to you for X, but I will give you a "good" appraisal for you insurance. Don't be fooled, the insurance company will only pay what the item can be replaced for, not the inflated appraised value, plus you will be overpaying on the premium.
I forgot to mention there is something called "vault coverage" with some company's. This does not mean you can keep it in a safe in your home. You must keep the item in a Bank Safe. The rate per $1000 is much less, but you will have to notify in advance when you are going to remove the item, and when you replace it. It's a pain, but the cost is a fraction.

I looked into them once and one of my major problems with Jewelers Mutual is that they only do new items and if lost by whatever means their method of replacement is to replace the piece, which doesn't help at all for vintage pieces.

But now that I reread the policy looks like they do an actual cash value. That makes me happy. Anyone dealt with them for a vintage claim or have vintage pieces insured with them?

Read that policy.
