New Watch!! Breaking Away From Diver's
I have decided to try something a bit different. I wanted a dressier watch to wear on certain occasions, but I am not the super-dressy type. A milgauss seems to be dressy, but with a bit of pizazz. I really wanted a GV, but I just couldn't ignore the price savings on a white Milgauss. Also, all of my Rolexes to date have a black dial........So a different color dialed watch wasn't a bad thing. Honestly, after wearing it for a couple days, I am loving it more and more. Thanks a bunch DavidSW
What do you think??? BTW, I hadn't noticed until today (first time I have taken macro shots)........But Rolex made a slight boo boo on my dial. Look at the 3 lines of text on the top of the dial. All of the text is off-center. I am researching it now, but on all the other Millies that I have found thus far have symmetrical text.

Congrats! I love my GV. I think the Milgauss is the best deal going. It gets the majority of wrist time in my collection. My poor SS Daytona just doesn't understand LOL!

Very nice indeed Jason. It is still sporty looking but toned down and less bulky looking without the crownguards. The white dial has a very clean look.

Man, you are right. The text is off center, justified to the left. And - if I'm not mistaken, so is the text at the bottom! Your observation prompted me to have a closer look at mine. Fortunately, it's dead center! I guess that's something that Quality Control missed, but they should be able to get a new dial for you. My AD had all three Milgauss dials, when I got mine. It is hard to get away from the black dials, when you are so used to them. I really like the looks of that white, though. The Milgauss is certainly unique. It is built "Diver tough" to me, but lacks the big bezel. I love the simplicity of the dial, but with the orange and the lightning bolt dial, it can have a more casual look as well. Enjoy! Cheers, Carl

Now that you mention it.........the text on the bottom of the dial IS off center as well. I bought this from DavidSW, and it was actually BNIB, with warranty card in MY name. I am inclined to not mess with it. I am not overly particular about the "small stuff". I might get it changed

That's a superb looking white dial!!! One of the best out there, in my opinion.
Re the writing...I'm with you...if it doesn't bother you too much, why mess with it. Enjoy!!

Thanks!!! I am inclined to agree with you. Who knows........Maybe it will be worth something someday to have a flawed dial

the flat part of the 'L' in Rolex should be centered under the crown.
'Milguass' is centered, not the other 2 lines above it. as with coins with offset die strikes, this could have some worth. |

nice pick up, as per me, if its NIB and the markings on the dials were screwed up, It will bother me no matter how I want to justify "well its possible this watch could be worth more in future because of this defect" does not make sense to me since most Rolex owners want a perfect watch when its bought new.

Beautiful watch. I got the GV as a gift, but admire the white dial version. Clean and sharp. Unusual, but simple and elegant.
The odd centered text is one of those things that you don't notice unless it's pointed out. I would regard it as something that makes your beautiful watch unique. Enjoy! |

Have that dial changed, Jason.
As ex-CEO of Rolex, I've pulled some strings and got that tosser in QC sacked!!

Guys, at this point, I am very ambivalent about the dial. At first, I said "No way, I will keep it the way it is". Now, I am toying with the idea of swapping the dial. I just don't know. Your input on my other thread could easily sway me one way or the other.

Seems like you may...*may* only have issues if/when you want to sell and *if* prospective buyers care.
If you like it, keep it. |

Awesome watch, but I have to agree with the others, have the dial changed or exchange the watch.....I am not that picky but the text that off center is ridiculous, enjoy the mil!
