Dial Change Taboo ?
I know I am going to take it on the chin with this one...but;
I am considering buying a 18K Day Date. I would like to put a different ROLEX dial in it. Would this be a Rolex "Taboo"? Mike |

do whatever you want as long as it is the genuine rolex dial.
As far as i know, dial change on DJ/DD is very common :-) |

I concur with Tristan and Eric...just make sure that it's 100% genuine.

That's what I figured, but wanted to make sure I was not off base.
Thx, Mike |

Obviously keep your parts in the event you ever sell the watch...
You *might* have some 'splaining to do should you get into it with a fellow WIS, but that would be a fun chat to have! |

I had a blue Submariner a put the serti dial on it ( Rolex ) wore it that way for 2 years when I decided to sell it I simply put the original dial on and sold it with box, papers, etc.. I then sold the serti dial by itself. Do it but keep the original for authenticity of documentation...

I am obsessed to find this dial : http://www.rolexforums.com/showpost....3&postcount=95 (from WG Daytona), and put it in my SS Daytona. |

Agree that you can do what you want as it is your watch. Just keep the original dial and you are set to change back to stock at anytime.

I changed the dial on my DD, thought I may be able to save a bit by buying the dial from a non AD dealer, but mark my words there is a lot of tat out there. There are so many after market dials knocking around, and to the untrained eye quite had to spot. I ended up going to my AD, I paid over the odds but I was very happy with the result as it was all 100% Rolex. Go to your local Rolex dealer!
