No problem guys, just use this Rolex Crown-a-Matic. Its guaranteed to align the coronet on your crown to exactly 12:00. Winding the watch and setting the time afterwards might be a bit of an issue, however. We're working on that glitch.

GMT Master REF 1675 upside down
GMT Master II REF 116710LN 11:45 position dang so close. I forgot to say at first with the 1675 I thought this was wrong. After that I paid attention to everyone’s photos and saw I was not alone. |

I so agree!!

I have always maintained that for thousands of quid a pop Rolex can sort this aesthetic issue out. It is important - mught only be a detail but an important detail. Remember some of these pieces cost as much as a house or a Rolls! |

My 16610 is at 2pm. No biggie, however, it would be nice if the crown were to be perfectly aligned. Just my opinion.

My GMTIIC is at 6PM. Which is pretty good I guess. Looks right side up, when standing on my head!

Don't screw it tight and leave at the position you like it most if it bothers you that much .... just don't push your luck and don't go diving with it .

On my recently bought day-date, the crown is perfectly straight up when the stem is locked and screwed down.
I suspect that it will change as wear sets in over time. As long as the seals are good, that's what counts. |

I keep my snug and I do not worry about the location of the crown. Knowing my luck I would end up with a watch full of water.

Out of my watches, 2 of the crowns are upward pointers, the rest are totally random!

Just made a quick tally -
Over the last 30 years I've owned 12 different Rolex watches - not ONE had the tiny crown crown pointing straight up.
It is a function of where the case tube sits in the case. You have a 1:360 chance of having it line up - so I just need to buy 347 more watches. |

Screw the crown in.
Unscrew it until the crown points up. Take your pix. Screw it back in (optional). Job done. We don't go deep sea diving every day?

I can't think of one thing about my watches that concerns me less than how the crown lines up. To my mind, it's completely irrelevant.

To me, it does not matter one iota if the "crown on the crown" is straight up and down or not. What DOES annoy me (and is an easy fix) is that of the many Rolexes I have owned, very rarely has the "pearl" on the bezel lined up perfectly with theh 12 o'clock marker. (To me, that is something that is an easy fix and should come out of the factory done properly...in fact, I have had my AD adjust one or two for me so that the pearl lines up with the 12 marker).
