** Basel 2010 guesses..
Well, there are only a few more weeks until BASELWORLD 2010 – The World Watch and Jewellery Show
March 18 to 25, 2010 .. and plenty of guesses going around.. I thought we would start our own "Guess" Thread, and see how close we are. Put down what you expect to see, or even hope to see, and let's find out how good a guesser you are !! Here is what I expect. 1. A SS Sub Ceramic, of course. 2. Upgraded clasp and bracelet on the Yachtmaster 3. Upgraded Clasp and bracelet on the Explorer II 4. More dial options on the DateJust II

Aside from the Sub, I wouldn't be surprised to see a Jubilee bracelet added to the DJII.
Now, as for what I'd like to see, Rose Gold GMTIIC or New SS Sub w/ Red Lettering. |

Defenantly the SUB will be updated. And I belive they will come out with a jubilee for the DJ. Also maybe offer some men's dial options for the 36mm DJ again..

March 18 to 25, 2010 Rolex, Patek and the other "Heavy Hitters" debut their new offerings there........ I don't want to downplay SIHH, but it is invitation only, and only features 19 brands... Our Panerai fans will be able to see what Panerai has to offer at SIHH.....!!

Of course, I've got on my Super Jubilee, so won't be affected too much. Just can't go back to the Oysterlock bracelet once you've got on the Super Jubilee. JJ

All agreed & all very much hoped for too! (& maybe HOPEFULLY a maxi-dial as well on the ExpyII's?) Obviously I'm aware that it may be late 2010/early 2011 before the new SS Sub is widely available but would you guys expect similar delays if any of the above ARE released too?? I'd LOVE a pair of Explorer II's with a maxi-dial and improved clasps & bracelets.....

My guesses are:
1) SS Sub Ceramic 2) GMTIIC Pepsi or Coke 3) New dial colour choice for TT GMTIIC 4) White dial for Explorer I 5) Maxi-dial & maxi-case Explorer II with updated clasp and bracelet -- but hopefully without a ceramic bezel 6) TT Yacht-Master II |

Sorry to be a pain here guys but the whole 'Basel' thing is new to me......
so if the show(?) itself is 18th to 25th March when do you think we'll start seeing official pictures of anything new? Obviously I hope that any forum members attending will post pic's (cue Jocke!) but say there's something I want to buy..... Will our AD's know about it immediately & also know enough to order it in for us or.......?????

Anyone think that the Daytona will now have a date?

I'd be very seriously surprised if Rolex do that. Don't think it will happen - I think the Daytona looks terrific as it is and should not be disturbed.

If I were looking to boost sales of a line I would revise the Explorer II dial to a modern version of the old steve McQueen dial with the white gold trimmed lume stick hour markers. This would take the Exporer II back to its origin and away from the Sub and GMT styled dials on modern versions.

The 16610 will be history and replaced by the new ceramic Sub.
The 14060m will stay the same, mainly for a price point IMO. The Explorer will be offered in 40mm. Expect a blinged out Sub of some sort. Scott
