I am in SHOCK!!! Panerai Service Center report on my 233

OK
As many of you know I got a 233, it was a trade and
it was running fast so I sent it in expecting them to just
fix that and suggest a total overhaul at my expense as the
warranty ends this month.

I was a little worried when I had not heard from them yet
as I sent the watch about 2 weeks ago. I asked them to
call,Email or fax me. Today in the mail I got a letter from them

First page says the suggest a complete service (oh oh I see the $ signs!!)
Next page more detail dial "spotted/stained debris)
OH OH MORE $$$

WAIT!!
At the bottom of the page in all caps

ALSO NOTE: THIS REPAIR WILL BE DONE AT NO CHARGE. THIS IS ONLY FOR YOUR REVIEW.

WOW!!
I just thought they would calibrate the time and then suggest I purchase an overhaul, I didn't even see any debris on the face

Big thumbs up for Piaget Service!!!!! (Panerai handles their service through the Piaget center in TX now)

Good news Jeremy, but how long. I've heard horror stories about waits.

Good luck.

Yes I am shocked
Do you think Rolex would ever replace a dial under warranty when a customer didn't even notice a problem (not likely!) nor do I think they would do a complete service free of charge (nor would I expect it)

I was told I will have the watch back as early as 2 weeks BUT could take up to 6 weeks... I am not complaining!

Its funny, I have a 090 coming right now BUT don't think I am gonna keep it....
I am debating trading up into the Flyback Chrono or an 8 day chrono BUT it frustrates me as I swore Id never buy a Chrono as I have NO use for them whatsoever!

Don't get caught in the trap, people buy chronos and think they'll use them or like the look, but 99 times out of 100 they'll never use it and feel that the dial is too cluttered, i tend to think that any chrono i buy lasts a couple of months before i get buyers remorse and start looking at something else!

The 90 is a nice enough watch as well, but with a 233 in your watchbox i can't see it being of any use, unless of course you're wanting a day to day watch and keeping the 233 for special occasions, i'm thinking about that as well, although i'm looking at the 177, but then again i'm not 100% happy at the prices these days and might move away from Panerai and Rolex

Good to hear! I was worried because I've heard stories about Panerai service. I know where I'll be sending my 190 when it eventually needs it!!

I'm glad to hear you're getting a great job done, at least it's better than the UK service centre, knowing my luck they'd do a crapper job than usual and as an apology send me a complimentary watchwinder for my 233

Actually the service center in TX is not Piaget but a new, wholly PASC center. Clad they took care of it!
