New to Panerai's, need help to see if this is not a fake.

Greetings, this was posted on a forum I regularly frequent and the member has great reviews with selling other items but I wanted to make sure. I asked him to send me pictures and this is what he sent me:

He also has all the boxes and paperwork. he did not buy the watch new he said he bought it off another forum about a year ago. Can you tell by the pictures if it is real or fake? What are some signs I can look for?

All help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Looks great. I would feel secure with this, especially given the clarity and detail of the pics.

I was just making a joke based on the pics, but--in all honesty--it's pretty difficult to judge when the photos lack detail and are so muddled. Even with the best of pictures, it's best to be prudent and always buy the seller.

If you want some recommendations, I am certain the good folks here can help.

I understand, thanks for the informative post. Like I said I am new to Panerai's so I am not sure if you can tell by basic things or the detail. I have looked at a couple Panerai's in person and this one looks real but like I said I am new.

I asked the seller for some new pictures but I think I may take your advice on the seller part. I am still interested in knowing if this is real or not so i can inform the people interested on that forum.

I do appreciate the help.

You're better off taking it to an AD and paying a few bucks to authenticate it. Better than taking opinions based on pictures.

I really do appreciate all the help guys. I think I am going to pass on the watch and go with some people I have been researching on here. However I did put a down payment on this watch so i hope I can recover that. If there is anything that looks wrong with the watch please let me know so I can tell the guy so he'll give me my DP back.

I wish i found this forum 12 hours ago :(

Just my VERY laymens opinion. It looks like a fake. The lettering seems not to match or be slightly off the "proper" position. But don't take my word for it. Get it authenticated.

Walk away. The dead giveaway is the lack of swan neck.

There are many other small things wrong with it not worth discussing.

Keep looking.

Thank you all for your help!

I went and spoke to the guy today and at first he wouldn't beleive me but when I pointed him to this thread and showed him fakes online he said wow. HE gave me back my deposit and he said he will take it in to a dealer andhave them check it out and if they say it is fake he will go after who bought he from for fraud.

Thank you so very much for your help, you guys saved me!
