Panerai wristwatches were originally designed for underwater use. Don't be afraid to get it wet.

There are many waterproof/resistant leather straps available - Greg Stevens (GSD) to name but one maker... http://gregstraps.blogspot.com/

Cheers

I dive with mine, only with the rubber strap. Amazing lume and easy to read under water.

I have had PAM's wet often, but only with the rubber band. Do not wet the OEM croc strap, I was stuck in a heavy rainstorm and the inside of the band discolored and deformed. I was quite disappointed!!
