$6500 for the 312

Hello Friends,

In speaking with an AD I was offered the 312 for $6500 shipped and insured to Toronto, Canada. Considering list is $7400 I think this is pretty good. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Absolutely. This is what you'd pay for a BNIB 312 from a Grey Dealer. If you're in the market for one, I'd say GO FOR IT!

That's a superb deal I'd try to push for one or two more bills off then close the deal. You got nothing to lose

Try for extra strap, then close the deal.

I'd wait until Monday before you buy! SIHH...

Think the 312 might be going down in value.

Sounds pretty good, although maybe ping Oscar ('bodybump') first, before commiting...

If you go with the AD, push them for some goodies (e.g. a strap) at the least...

Cheers

Sounds like a good deal. .....had I known we could have done a deal for 2. My 312 shows up in Toronto next week.

I am interested to know why anyone would feel this way (below)... I personally feel 312s are a great deal and their retail price will increase once the bad times are behind us. They have done incredibly well considering they were released in a recession.

Why? So what - they have a Ti version (that will assuredly be $500 to $1000 more). That won't make me flip my 312.

Mik does make a good point with his comment. Although Ti isn't for me personally, the sexy gold hands do add something special for many. It reminds me of the 190 I had and it's a perk I miss when gazing upon my watches........will it detract from the 312 status- only time will tell. Hell, I thought the 312 cannibalized 233 sales to the nth degree.

However, the weight difference kills the deal for me. SS on the wrist is way nicer than Ti for this guy.

I would like to try the new Ti version on for size though....

My thoughts, many (not all), will be flipping their 312's for the new golden hand model. Paneristi go crazy for these simple changes. I know my buddy at work is looking forward to this b/c he hopes to get a cheaper 312 in a few months.

I hope you are right, but highly doubt about it, since quantity of 312 is very small.

All I know is I love my 312. These sort of moves are how firms like Panerai and Rolex always get us. Shiny new parts, a new movement, etc. The list goes on. I'm sure the new ones will be the cats meow though.....

The thing is the 359 and 351 will surely be significantly more expensive than the reasonably priced 312. I cannot predict whether or not this fact will change the resale value of the 312 - but I still feel that the 312 will remain a good seller for Panerai just as the 111 is still as popular or more popular than the Ti counterpart - the 177. Some prefer steel. Some prefer Ti.

I imagine we will see many 'ristis install gold hands on their 312s in the near future though.

I find the gold hand sort of "doesn't match" the overall clean and simple look of 312... but I guess that's just me.

I predict there may be an increase in new sale prices for 312 due to the high demands..
