Ick. OK- so I've always, ALWAYS wanted a ss Daytona with the in-house 4130 movement ever since I can remember. Well, I got my "Grail" watch, just this past Fall...and now that I have it well...
I've begun to develop a "need" for the Deepsea". What began as mild interest is slowly changing to want/need/must have!
Am I sick? Will the desire for the Deepsea go away? I think I really want it now!
I'd like to hear from Deepsea owners- what is is that initially attracted you to the watch? Do you still love it? Would I be insane to sell/trade the 116520 to get one? HELP!!

Yes! That's the ONE thing holding me back- I wish the bracelet were more in proportion with the case!

What about the recently discontinued Sea Dweller?? Love THAT one Marc. You get the thickness / more than a Sub of course, but manageable...AND you get a Date.

How large are your wrists??? Have you tried the DSSD on?

A client came in today with the discontinued DS and I did try it on. I did like that fact that there was a date and NO cyclops. My wrists are average... I think you've seen my pics, do you think it's too big for me? I love the way my partner's Panerai PAM1950 looks on me.

Oops. Almost forot: I DID try the DSSD on and I like the size! It just seemed to sit pretty HIGH on my wrist..LOL

I've worn mine everyday for 10 months and I can't imagine parting with it. I think you'll find it to be quite comfortable despite it's size. Good luck!

and acquire the DSSD for your collection. This is my second DSSD and I am loving it. My initial reactions were just like most of you; the darn thing is too thick, too heavy etc... and never resize the bracelet and to really did give it a honest try. I sold it to another TRF member here within a week.

IMHO, once you try on the watch with the bracelet adjusted properly ( snug ), you'll love it.

Wear mine every day,find it v.comfy on my wrist .
Nice and tight so it dosen't rattle around .
Don't seem to notice the weight or thickness of it once it is on.
If you want it get it , i did and love it.

I never gave them a second thought, even after seeing one on a managers wrist at work. Then I went into an AD to browse the Millie selection, saw one and thought why not try it on.

I was blown away by the watches heft. It's a VERY substantial watch...there is no doubt that you have a monster Rolex on your wrist. Long story short....I walked out wanting one.

Not being a big Daytona fan, I would say yes...flip it for the DSSD if you cant swing both.

Well, then you can wear the DSSD in the summer - with short sleeves!

The DSSD has taken over my collection. You only notice the size and weight the first day. It is very comfortable and looks great on my 7" wrist. None of the other watches get any wrist time anymore.

Definitely try the DSSD a few times before you buy. I have a relatively skinny 7" wrist, but have no problems with the 3 large 44mm watches in my collection. However, the DSSD for some reason feels HUGE on me. I don't know if it's the fact that it seems to sit very high on the wrist, or if it's the fact that the narrow bracelet makes the watch head seem huge. It is a remarkable piece of engineering, I just don't know if I'd be able to wear it.

Very situation for me some time ago, in a round about kind of way.

Flipped GMT II for Sub date. P/x'd Sub date with money for S/S Daytona. So desperately missed the presence of my Sub (and the date) and Went from the 116520 white face to an SD4000 and will love it for life!
Just added the DSSD to my SD and can't ever imagine being without either. My wrists measure 7.25" and yes, once the bracelet is sized correctly, it feels like a dream. I've had the DSSD on for over 30 days consecutively and will continue to get 99.9% of wrist time.

Presence, usability and functionality do it for me and it's also nice to see a full sized second hand go round!!
